I have a serial cable... But is it right that the rescue system doesn't use dhcp ? The rescue system doesn't get a IP.by jedie - Rescue System
davygravy Wrote: > Your host that you were booted into is called > "rescue". Is this a NAND rescue that you were > booted into, or a USB rescue? (flashing your NAND > while booted from NAND usually doesn't work) Ah! Yes, that's it: I was in the old installed NAND rescure system. I flash now with a debian on USB and it works. Thank you!by jedie - Rescue System
I try 3.3.2 on Dockstar. It works generally... But if i do halt i get this via serial console: ... If i see it clearly, there is only newer U-Boot, Rescue System and Kernel... But a prepared rootfs image seems only exist for NSA320: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/nwt2kbvetvgvroo/c2V9HsP_C7/Kirkwood/rootfs_imagesby jedie - Debian

Thank you. Found them here: http://forum.doozan.com/read.php?2,7676 http://forum.doozan.com/read.php?3,6965 etc. Maybe the doozan tutorial page http://projects.doozan.com/debian/ should add these links?by jedie - Debian
My old USB Stick is broken and my dockstar debian system is away... (I can connect to the dockstar into the rescue system.) My question is, how can i create a new debian on a new USB stick? Exist here anywhere a simple Image that i can put on a USB Drive? Something like http://archlinuxarm.org/os/ArchLinuxARM-armv5te-latest.tar.gz (see: http://archlinuxarm.org/platforms/armv5/seagate-dockstarby jedie - Debian
Ah, my fouled. I forgot "ide reset". OK, not i can boot ArchLinuxARM with: ide reset ext2load ide 0:1 0x1100000 /uInitrd ext2load ide 0:1 0x680000 /boot/uImage setenv bootargs console=ttyS0,115200 root=/dev/sda1 bootm 0x680000 I think my uBoot Environment is somewhat chaos... Please can someone can post a clean uBoot Environment for GoFlexHome?by jedie - uBoot

A way to use SATA is to install Plugbox Linux: http://plugapps.com/index.php5?title=PlugApps:Install_to_UBI/UBIFS_on_NAND_memoryby jedie - Debian
I installed Plugbox Linux, now and sata works fine. How to is here: http://plugapps.com/index.php5?title=PlugApps:Install_to_UBI/UBIFS_on_NAND_memoryby jedie - Debian
OK, i setup netconsole and see this: U-Boot 2010.06-00695-gbd23130-dirty (Aug 30 2010 - 23:04:56) Marvell-Dockstar/Pogoplug by Jeff Doozan Marvell>> ide reset ide reset Unknown command 'ide' - try 'help' Marvell>> And yes, the site http://www.plugboxlinux.org/index.php5?title=PlugApps:Goflex_Net_custom_u-boot_and_kernel explain how to build a own kernel aby jedie - Debian
I find the right syntax from http://buffalo.nas-central.org/wiki/NetCat-A_UBoot-Friendly_Network_Utility : nc -u -p 6666 -v 192.168.1.100 6666 This works.by jedie - uBoot
I try to use http://jeff.doozan.com/debian/uboot/netconsole described in http://jeff.doozan.com/debian/uboot/ but i get some errors: $ ./netconsole 192.168.1.100 NOTE: the interrupt signal (normally ^C) has been remapped to ^T ncb: not found usage: nc [-46DdhklnrStUuvzC] [-i interval] [-P proxy_username] [-p source_port] [-s source_ip_address] [-T ToS] [-w timeout] [-X proxy_protocol]by jedie - uBoot
I didn't want to compile a own kernel :) Is there no other way?by jedie - Debian
a "serial cable" is ordered ;) What's about "ide start" ? Should i do this: fw_setenv bootcmd 'ide reset; ide start; usb start; run force_rescue_bootcmd; run ubifs_bootcmd; run usb_bootcmd; usb stop; run rescue_bootcmd; run pogo_bo otcmd; reset'by jedie - Debian
I added "ide reset" in "bootcmd": fw_setenv bootcmd 'ide reset; usb start; run force_rescue_bootcmd; run ubifs_bootcmd; run usb_bootcmd; usb stop; run rescue_bootcmd; run pogo_bo otcmd; reset' But didn't change anything...by jedie - Debian
Thank you for the link, jeff. But i have no serial access to the box, yet :( Now i'm thinking about the uBoot variables. Current fw_printenv here: http://paste.pocoo.org/show/277466/ There is nothing about "ide"... no "ide reset" ore something else... (Note: I don't want to boot from ide)by jedie - Debian
Now i tried the rescue system. dmesg from it: http://paste.pocoo.org/show/277460/ Same with "modprobe sata_mv". It doesn't do anything except the new line in dmesg: "libata version 3.00 loaded."by jedie - Debian
Some more information: I found a dmesg from a similar to my Hardware (Feroceon 88FR131, Kirkwood: MV88F6281-A1): http://pastie.org/1232798 There exists some entries from "sata_mv". In my dmesg: http://pastie.org/1232828 is no "sata_mv". I also do this: root@GoFlexHome:~# modprobe -r sata_mv root@GoFlexHome:~# modprobe -v sata_mv insmod /lib/modules/2.6.32-5-kirkby jedie - Debian
I notice that ipkg is installed in rescue system... But the filesystem is read-only. Same here (on "GoFlex Home" box): rescue:~# fdisk -l Disk /dev/mtdblock0: 1 MB, 1048576 bytes 255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 0 cylinders Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes Disk /dev/mtdblock0 doesn't contain a valid partition table But can this be normal?by jedie - Rescue System
Short feedback: The rescue System seems to work fine on my "GoFlex Home" box, too. But access to SATA port failed as under debian, see: http://forum.doozan.com/read.php?2,1762by jedie - Rescue System
I read this: http://www.plugapps.com/index.php5?title=DockStar_LED The LED controls exists, but only one LED. The GoFlex Home has two leds: root@GoFlexHome:~# ls /sys/class/leds/ plug:green:health Turn one to "heartbeat" doesn't work: root@GoFlexHome:~# echo heartbeat > /sys/class/leds/plug\:green\:health/trigger bash: echo: write error: Invalid argumentby jedie - Debian
As described in http://forum.doozan.com/read.php?2,1738 i installed debian on my GoFlex Home. The Problem: The SATA Port doens't work. I changes the default arcNumber (2097 - Marvell SheevaPlug) and tried: 2678 (Marvell eSATA SheevaPlug) 3089 (Seagate Goflex Net) I also load with modprobe every driver in: /lib/modules/2.6.32-5-kirkwood/kernel/drivers/ata /lib/modules/2.6.32-5-by jedie - Debian
