oki, just works now, indeed a connection issue, pins are middle three of con5. use with Zterm and pl2303 driver @bodhi; also used a trial of serial for macosx (https://www.decisivetactics.com/products/serial/), this app does not require (signed) kext's but bundles drivers in the app, works nicely, costs $$by xander - Debian
must be connection, I'll make a more permanent one and try again @Carl if you can make a layout thanks, I pretty much guessed RX/TX to be pin 2,3by xander - Debian
Odd, I need RX and TX to be both connected to get serial messages, so I see booting but I am unable to interrupt u-boot or login from the console. minicom settings are 115200 baud 8N1 identical behaviour on both PL2303 and CH340G, unable to get anything across the line, both OSX and linux. Any ideas?by xander - Debian
Regarding serial, anyone care to share the pin layout of CON5, need to find the RX/TX and the gitorious link is down. Thanks, Xanderby xander - Debian
ok, perhaps I do not understand correctly; the rootfs is loaded by the kernel, not uboot, so why not flash a card-reader-working kernel to nand and keep the vendor u-boot. wrt the card reader: did you try and disable Etron USB 3 in the kernel (or as module)? Card reader seems to be connected to the Genesys IC, not the Etronby xander - uBoot
Nope KD20 has 256MiB RAM. I got the original kernel sources, it doesn't compile out of the box (chokes on extern inline). Also, when trying to diff the tree against vanilla 2.6.31.14 it seems patches have been made throughout the entire tree OMG Haven't gotten around to opening the package itself yet, but I got this bad feeling. Is the pogoplug this hacky too?by xander - uBoot

No hassle rebooting with SSD :) Allowing exception per kext cannot be enforced, is never going to happen.by xander - uBoot
1Gb(it) = 128MB x8 :) If it's that bad I won't have any second thoughts on opening itby xander - uBoot
Hi all, I'll be getting a new KD20 to tinker with, before I had a NSA310 which I thought I'd never would want to use again. Anyway, does the oxnas code address arm11 features in the kernel, encryption engine, and MMU? Has anyone succeed in getting a full debian install in the 1Gb flash? What toolchains do you use for kernels 4.x?by xander - uBoot
Hi, pl2302 usb worked fine on the Lions, though the cheap Chinese ripoffs I got died some months after usage. CH340 seems to be the better. In any case, you can assign the usb thingy to Linux in VirtualBox if all else fails or disable the kext sign requirement in MacOSX; % sudo nvram boot-args="kext-dev-mode=1" see http://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/163059/how-can-iby xander - uBoot
