Impressive ! Would it be possible to launch Openmediavault ? I have a DS212+ and may be interested. Anyway thank you for what you've have done both of you.by Sagittarius - Debian
Therefore, I would like to update uboot. But it sems my nand (mtd0) is protected Was not booting on usb :Dby Sagittarius - uBoot
@bodhi Yes it's OK. I was booting via TFTP/NFS then I could not manage to install new uboot. Booting via an USB key let me install it. Thank you for your work.by Sagittarius - uBoot
Hi In step 6 I get a permission denied on my Goflex Net so I can not update my uboot (latest recue works great on it). # flash_erase /dev/mtd0 0 4 flash_erase: error!: /dev/mtd0 error 13 (Permission denied) I've probably set RO /dev/mtd0 but I can't remember how to unset it. Help appreciated ;-) EDIT: booting on a USB key made it possible.by Sagittarius - uBoot
I have installed u-boot and rescue system on a GFH for a friend. The GFH worked very well until a shutdown -h now. I can't get access via SSH when the disk is on its support. Rescue works. I've tried to reinstall the system, same behavior: it boots but after some halt / reboot, 2 or 3 times ;-) no more ssh access, no ip. Here is what gives me nc -lu -p 6666: # nc -lu -p 6666by Sagittarius - uBoot
I've just come to upgrade u-boot on my 4 Dockstar and on my GoFlex net. It works perfectly. Thank you very much for what you have done. For the Goflex Net, to be able to boot with SATA, I had to adjust some variables: fw_setenv sata_device '0:1' fw_setenv sata_root '/dev/sda1' fw_setenv sata_rootfstype 'ext3' fw_setenv sata_rootdelay '10' fwby Sagittarius - uBoot
Do you think it would be possible to run DSM from Synology on a GoFlex net ? It seems the source are published: http://sourceforge.net/projects/dsgpl/files/by Sagittarius - Debian
Improvement. Click My usb port is now completely dedicated to the April Stello U3 (async. 24bits/192kHz usb transport -> coax spdif). Here is the output of alsa information script. The mpd Dockstar boots on the network by tftp and runs Archlinux with 3.0.3 kernel modules and uImage. I had to specify these uboot parameters: fw_setenv net_image_name '/boot/uImage' fw_seby Sagittarius - Debian
Finally, I managed to get perfect sound on DockStar with this configuration: - Dockstar running debian Squeeze / mpd 0.16.2 repackaged from Wheezy source - April Stello U3 spdif transport based on XMOS chipset -> DAC Musical Fidelity V-DAC - Kingston DTmini 4GB USB key for booting with as less as possible daemons, no log. But the important thing is that the MPD sound files, logs, pids aby Sagittarius - Debian
Interesting post. I've tried the Arcam rDac without success. See here. I've also tried the HRT streamer II+. It sounded good but I had some troubles: the sound disapeared after few seconds, because the device required too much power from the USB port. The solution, known by the manufacturer, was to upgrade the firmware if possible. But my device had a non-upgradable firmware (<by Sagittarius - Debian
I've sent back today the Arcam rDac.by Sagittarius - Debian
I've come to try an USB audiophile DAC: Arcam rDac. It is an async usb DAC to be able to lower jitter. But I encounter some issue. Yes that's completely normal ;-) I presume you have read it in my previous post to launch #e2fsck /dev/sdxn See : http://kernelnewbies.org/Ext4by Sagittarius - Debian
I've been using ext4 since 2 months now without issue in the system logs. My Dockstarr runs lighttpd mysql phpp for Dolibarr. I use also a partition for a webdavs server. In my case, GNU/Linux Debian Lenny is installed on the external usb drive (ext4) not in the Nand memory.by Sagittarius - Debian
Thank you for this thread. Should I prefer a DisplayLink certified adapter or do other models as the one, rather cheap, pointed by gorgone work as well ?by Sagittarius - Debian
I am wondering if someone has tested a SIS USB to VGA adapter on the Dockstar? It seems it works. There is also other gadgets from vendors wich might work (?). Then with its Gigabit ethernet port and the 3 USB ports (for mouse and keyboard) the Dockstar could be a little ThinClient (X, NX,...)by Sagittarius - Debian

Yes it works with xdmcp.:D I'll post some screenshots of XFCE4 on Dockstar. a first shot because with a remote screen I was not able to make a screenshot.by Sagittarius - Debian
There is a post here in german: http://www.hardwareluxx.de/community/f101/der-20-server-735098.html with vnc. But it might work with xdmcp also ?? When a display manager as gdm is installed, you just need to edit /etc/X11/gdm/gdm.conf and change the XDMCP section that has Enable=false to Enable=true And from your desktop computer: X -query ip_of_yourdockstar :0 or :1 depending if you are alrby Sagittarius - Debian
simple: 1.- mount your devices on your usual GNU/Linux computer: eg: /media/USB and /media/harddrive and as root: rsync -av /media/USB/ /media/harddrive/ (do not forget the terminal sign /) Unmount. Plug the harddrive. The partition scheme should be the same for swap (default sda2) and root (default sda1) partitions. But you can change that easily under pogoplug. Hello, I have exactly the same issue that Rosi has. It appeared since I followed the procedure to install the new uboot with LED support. The script told me that everything went fine. Before I was using the mtdblock3 uboot only. I have mounted as said: cd /tmp mkdir pogo mount -t jffs2 /dev/mtdblock2 /tmp/pogo but there is no # before /usr/sbin/dropbear Do you have an idea hoby Sagittarius - Debian
It works great ! :D Thank you again Jeff for what you have done. I've come also to install a little webdav server. This little plugcomputer is very usefull.by Sagittarius - Debian

So adjusting only the fstab seems not efficient to have a journalised file system. So, does someone has an idea for how to adjust, as Jeff said, the uBoot kernel parameters ?by Sagittarius - Debian
No more success for xfs. It seems only ext2 is available to boot the system, am I right ? After the boot, of course every file system is seen. I managed to install Dolibarr ERP (with Lighttpd, PHP5, MySql) on a 2"5 HDD, and I would prefer to run it with a Journalised fs. The workaround I found was to define a /var (ext4) partition after installation. Maybe there is something better toby Sagittarius - Debian
