Hi Bodhi, I am in trouble now with this NSA320s and I ended up into no good mtd0 to boot from. After I read the above I think this is the right place so I am asking if I can write somehow the mtd0 from my linux laptop using serial console and not jtag. I have tried kwboot but no success. It shows the followings: sudo kwboot -t -B 115200 /dev/ttyUSB0 -b /home/sp/Downloads/uboot.2017.0by enki - uBoot
Hi Guys, I got serial console.erased mtd0 and I had a hickup in power so my NSA320s is now bricked with mtd0 empty. Have anyone tried to JTAG NSA320s? thank you in advance. Best Regardsby enki - uBoot
Hi Bodhi Is it safe to assume that NSA320s is identical with NSA310s? Thanks. BRby enki - Debian
Hi Bodhi, Glad to hear from you. It is been a while ... saw community and devices grew since early days. Go Flex Net boxes are still working as they are very robust!!! even all these years, almost 15 years! I have replaced usb disks wth ssd on usb fro boot and now I wanted to catchup with NSA 3XX family. Many thanks for your step by step details. We have opened the plastic box and got toby enki - Debian
Hi I am upgrading from go flex net to nsa320s! and now I am reading the forum like in the old days. I am looking to access serial console and I would like to ask community what would be the best way to open up the box?!?? It is quite well build and I am afraid of breaking the plastic if I press too hard. There must be some tricks to open it up without breaking it. Much appreciatedby enki - Debian
Hello Everyone, It's been a while! These days I had to replace 2 out of 3 usb flash drives. It took me a while to get up to speed with everything. I had what they claim to be SLC usb flash drives but I haven't seen any difference. The drives were Mach Extreme (MX-LX and MX-ES) expensive but no more reliable than others. Pity. Looked up on the internet for '5 or 10 years wby enki - Debian
Bodhi, I have update uBoot and usb rootfs to the most recent ones. All worked ok. Thank you for support.by enki - Debian
Here are the actual uboot's env values: Pogoplug:/usr/sbin$ ./fw_printenv ethact=egiga0 bootdelay=3 baudrate=115200 mainlineLinux=yes console=ttyS0,115200 led_init=green blinking led_exit=green off led_error=orange blinking mtdparts=mtdparts=orion_nand:1M(u-boot),4M(uImage),32M(rootfs),-(data) mtdids=nand0=orion_nand partition=nand0,2 stdin=serial stdout=serial stderr=seriby enki - Debian
Bohdi, Thanks. Indeed mtd0 was written with Jeff's uboot. The uboot's environment values are quite different than the ones I am used with. Another quick question: can I replace it with one of your latest uboot as described here? http://forum.doozan.com/read.php?3,12381 such as the following? uboot.2014.07-tld-2.goflexnet.bodhi.tar md5: 0e24d7ccfdb6fd01de5d922ae1f1aaf4by enki - Debian
Hi I am trying to unlock our GoFlex Net and debianize it but there is small surprise along. Jeff's script from here (http://projects.doozan.com/debian/) more precisely, './kirkwood.debian-wheezy.sh' code here (https://github.com/shaggyone/pogoplug/blob/master/kirkwood.debian-wheezy.sh) stops. Our GFN is Pogoplug:/tmp$ uname -a Linux Pogoplug 2.6.22.18 #81 Tue Oct 19 16:05:by enki - Debian
@Bodhi, Everything works like magic. Thanks. I feel you should a little bit clearer about the booting process and add whenever you'll have a chance the details in the top post? I think a picture on 'architecture' will help a lot 'one picture can say 1000 words' ;) Rgds.,by enki - uBoot
Hi Bodhi, Thanks for fast reply. You said we can have two approaches A (with green color in the code below - scanning logic) or B (with red color in the code below - pinpointing to 'rootfs' label). I have set the env values as described in B. and here is my fw_printenv values, and as we can see I have 'scanning logic' included in ... before setting up usb_root LABEL=rootfsby enki - uBoot
Happy New Year to all! @Bodhi, Thanks for the new topic which brings more clarity about the booting process. I am using GFN for a number of years. Had some issues but now I thought it's time to go for RAID1 and get mdadm installed in. I am booting from USB memory (dev/sda1) and use two 1TB hdds attached to GFN's two sata ports. For the moment the hdds are NTFS. Reading the forum (by enki - uBoot
Hi All, @DonCharisma has mentioned that it's wise to minimize activity on USB Debian stick used to boot GoFlexNet. Sure things this is true. An ordinary USB stick will have limited write/read cycles and will fail one day, ussually before you expect. I had this problem before and probably many of us have it. Kindly search for your oppinion how is the best to save USB's lifetime byby enki - Debian

Hi Bodhi, I am back. I will donate my bricked GoFlex Net probably BootROM 1.11. I went for another one which seems to have the lucky version 1.21. I am using debian wheezy and I get known problems with visibility of SATA drives. I am booting from USB, and I like to share HDDs but no SATA. I saw issues around arcNumbers but I am not sure, and kindly ask you to advise: dmesg shows no Sby enki - uBoot
@majic79, Thank you for the binaries, kwboot x32 and u-boot.mtd0.kwb image. There are few things to improve on forum's instructions. I will help with comments after my lessons learned... @bodhi an all, I am running kwboot from an intel (x32) based laptop with Ubuntu. I have a CA-42 Nokia cable which worked all the time before nand write and reset on /dev/ttyUSB0. The device USB0 existsby enki - uBoot
Bodhi, I have tried the kwboot I have (attached below) with option -p without much luck... it seems it doesn't send the .kwb to goflex net. ;( It might be the case my goflex net is has that bootroom 1.11 which doesn not give uart boot at all. I read about the instruction to find which bootroom is in it but now is any other option to confirm the bootroom version? I don't think tby enki - uBoot
@majic79, The page you have indicated me to assist me in building an u-boot.mtd0.wkb is for GoFlex Home and not for Net. Can you please help with an u-boot.mtd0.wkb image for GoFlex Net? And something else: if there are any of you having kwboot tools compiled for ubuntu x32 I would appreciate, if not i need to spend more time creating ubuntu virtual machine on the mac and do it from there.by enki - uBoot
@bodhi, I will try kwboot with -p option. @majic79, Thank you for your availability to share a kwb image for GoFlex Net. I will try this evening to do a 'make tools' for kwboot. I am looking forward for the .kwb from you. I will let you know how I am getting on, you give me hopes... Regards, ESby enki - uBoot
Bodhi, Yes, you are right. I ended to write the file untarred file. ;((( As previous I tried to write a kwb image via serial cable with kwboot utility. The thread you have indicated it provides a binary for x64 Ubuntu. I managed to find one for x32 and I tried kwboot. kwboot -t -B 115200 /dev/ttyUSB0 u-boot.kwb [\code] it says to reboot the target ... plug and unplug the supply frby enki - uBoot
Bohdi, I managed to find kwboot but it loops and don't do much ... restart goflex net and do not send the boot message Sending boot message. Please reboot the target.../ ????? can I put it to bin ? Rgds., ES.by enki - uBoot
Hi Bodhi, I trying to find a kwboot precompiled for x32 Ubuntu... NO LUCK! help please regards, ES.by enki - uBoot
Hi bodhi, Thank you for your fast answer. I went down the upgrade the u-boot as described here (http://forum.doozan.com/read.php?3,6965). All Marvel commands returned 'ok' (tftpboot, nand erase, nand write.e). logs from Marvell prompt: Marvell>> ping 10.10.10.3 Using egiga0 device host 10.10.10.3 is alive Marvell>> tftpboot 0x800000 uboot.mrtd0.kwb-2011.12-goby enki - uBoot
Hi Everyone, I trust there are here people can help me. I rediscover my goflexnet bought in 2011 but I found that can get an IP from router's dhcp. I have tried several things but I gave up. I come back to experts. Problem: it seems goflexnet is not boot completly a kernel from usb memory anymore. it can't get an IP. I think uboot is more flexibile and there is more documentationby enki - uBoot
