Great. I think I have extracted arch in sd card by mistake. I have extracted and now it is working. Thanks bodhi.by vaidyasr - uBoot
I was able to boot the pogoplug with my arch pen drive, but not with the debian sdcard. Per the error, I am not able to find /boot/uInitrd in the sdcard. Did I miss anything?. I have extracted the debian tar file in the sdcard.by vaidyasr - uBoot
Hi bodhi, I got the below in netconsole Quote U-Boot 2014.07-tld-1 (Jul 18 2014 - 00:59:45) Pogoplug V4 0 (Re)start USB... USB0: USB EHCI 1.00 scanning bus 0 for devices... 2 USB Device(s) found scanning usb for storage devices... 1 Storage Device(s) found Failby vaidyasr - uBoot

My debian sd card was ext2. So I set # ./fw_setenv rootfstype 'ext2' and mtdparts as # ./fw_setenv mtdparts 'mtdparts=orion_nand:2M(u-boot),3M(uImage),3M(uImage2),8M(failsafe),112M(root)' Can I reboot with the Debian SDcard?by vaidyasr - uBoot
Thanks bodhi. I have reverted using revert folder and I am in stock OS. I was able to perform the below steps and good. #/usr/local/cloudengines/bin/blparam > current_envs.txt # cd /tmp # tar -xf uboot.2014.07.tld-1.goflexnet.bodhi.tar # flash_erase /dev/mtd0 0 4 # nandwrite /dev/mtd0 uboot.2014.07.tld-1.goflexnet.mtd0.kwb # cd /tmp; tar -xf uboot.2014.07-tld-1.environment.img.bodhi.tarby vaidyasr - uBoot
Hi bodhi, Any idea how to mount the pogoplug partitions inside arch?. Otherwise I have to revert back to stock using a pen drive.by vaidyasr - uBoot
Tried to do step 2. Got the below. Quote# ls -l total 844 -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 12819 Jul 22 17:23 flash_erase -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 329 Jul 22 17:23 fw_env.config -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 668497 Jul 22 17:23 fw_printenv -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 21286 Jul 22 17:23 nanddump -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 11500 Jul 22 17:23 nandwrite -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 3130 Jan 28 2012 ppv4-install.sh -by vaidyasr - uBoot
Thanks bodhi. But when I use the instructions on page 1 on step 2, I can't use fw_printenv. It says error, which I have already posted.by vaidyasr - uBoot
Hi bodhi, Any comment on the instructions I have posted above?by vaidyasr - uBoot
For serial cable, will this work?. http://www.ebay.com/itm/USB-To-RS232-TTL-UART-PL2303HX-Auto-Converter-USB-to-COM-Cable-Adapter-Module-/310676792112?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4855c7a330by vaidyasr - uBoot
OK, here are my steps. I believe the link above you have shared should be http://forum.doozan.com/read.php?3,11538,11706 Because in the link I have shared, they have blparam commands. 1. Download UBOOT image from http://bitly.com/1mv0END (PPV4). filename - uboot.2014.07-tld-1.pogo_v4.bodhi.tar 2. Create /etc/fw_env.config manually by using below commands. Quote# echo "/dev/mtd0 0xby vaidyasr - uBoot
Please let me know my manual steps are OK. I downloaded the nandtools and got them in /tmp. Created /etc/fw_env.config manually by using below commands. echo "/dev/mtd0 0xc0000 0x20000 0x20000">/etc/fw_env.config # /tmp/flash_erase /dev/mtd0 0 4 # /tmp/nandwrite /dev/mtd0 uboot.nandpogoV4-MMC-mtdparts-noSATA.kwb The above are the steps I have planned to do. After thatby vaidyasr - uBoot
Ok, thank you. One more question. I found the script in arch linux installation called ppv4-install.sh. which contains similar steps on page 1, but dealt with bldparm, so can I just use the same script by making appropriate changes (not to download uboot from web) and use your uboot?.by vaidyasr - uBoot
Hi bodhi, I would like to my PPV4 with Debian. I don't have serial cable. I would like to use SD card as a root device. So, do I need to use Jeff's script?. Please help. I don't want to screw my PPV4 2nd time. I found the arch linux is recognizing the USB hub which was not recognized by stack OS. Is there a possibility of using the kernel modules/drivers used in arch to the staby vaidyasr - uBoot
Thanks grayman4hire. I have tried to step 2 got the below Quote # ./fw_printenv ethaddr Warning: Bad CRC, using default environment ## Error: "ethaddr" not definedby vaidyasr - uBoot
Hi bodhi, Do I need to do Step A in page 1?. I don't find /etc/fw_env.config as I am using Arch installed in a USB. How to proceed?by vaidyasr - uBoot
Hi bodhi, I would like to use 3TB hard drives, with arch linux or debian. What is the start point?. I have already installed arch linux from the archlinux website and it works good. But 3TB support is not there. And right now I am using USB drive (top). I would like to use the SD card. And I don't want to solder a serial cable. How do I use the netconsole?. Thanks in advance.by vaidyasr - uBoot
What do you mean by Kirkwood plugs?. pogoplug?by vaidyasr - uBoot
It seems you were using pogoplug for long (3+ years) time, are you using USB hub with pogoplug?. If yes what brand and spec. Thanksby vaidyasr - uBoot
Thank you. And is there any thread to start from original OS to Debian without referring multiple web pages?. Of-course by giving reference to the original web pages, but steps mentioned in a single thread.by vaidyasr - uBoot
The serial cable itself costs $22, whereas the pogoplug is $22.99. So better replace it. Thanks for your support and will get back to you once I got the replacement.by vaidyasr - uBoot
The only option was to return it for a replacement?. I am still covered under 30 days replacement/refund.by vaidyasr - uBoot
I don't have a log of what I did. But I am sure no error, and the output was same as mentioned in your post. and I have verified the fw_printenv command too. The green light was not at all flashing after reboot. When I switch on the pogoplug with the USB drive on top, I can see the led on the flash drive was blinking initially, may mean it was reading something. and no green light afterby vaidyasr - uBoot
But not done the below steps. Quote# fw_setenv arcNumber 3960 # fw_setenv machid F78by vaidyasr - uBoot
And did the below steps too. Quote # fw_setenv mtdparts 'mtdparts=orion_nand:2M(u-boot),3M(uImage),3M(uImage2),8M(failsafe),112M(root)' # fw_setenv bootcmd 'usb start; run force_rescue_bootcmd; run ubifs_bootcmd; run usb_bootcmd; usb stop; run mmc_bootcmd' # fw_setenv mmc_bootcmd 'mmc init; mmc init;ext2load mmc 0:1 0x00800000 /boot/uImage; if ext2load mmc 0:1 0x0110by vaidyasr - uBoot
