Hi, what do you mean with default password? The password to login debian after Jeff's script is "root" not "stxadmin". The LED is off, that's right because the kernel installed with the script doesn't know it.by shyd - Debian
Hi Ultrazauberer, you are right, you don't need autofs when you are using fstab to mount the devices. autofs is only important if you want to detach the drives, when my drive spinned down I know it has been umounted before, so I can plug it out safely.by shyd - Debian
Hi there, did anyone try to alter or configure the u-boot in the LS-CHLv2 and had some luck? My goal is to boot the ls from a USB stick to be able to spin down the hdd in it. Thanksby shyd - uBoot
Hi, this is easy to set up with autofs and hd-idle: http://dev.shyd.de/2011/01/dockstar-nas-automount-hd-idle-samba-ftp/ To mount/umount the disk automatically use autofs and for spindown use hd-idle. This is most likely what you want to do inspired by safe removal from windows.by shyd - Debian
I usually do this with: cp -a /.../old/* /.../new The only thing I have to correct are the UUIDs in the fstab.by shyd - Debian

Hi, the repo moved to repo.dev-eth0.de: http://www.dev-eth0.de/archives/865by shyd - Debian
Hi, was this the first reboot after installing debian? If you want to upgrade the kernel to get LED support, you can do this in chroot. I wrote a short guide some days ago (you don't need the arcNumber thing): http://dev.shyd.de/2011/03/dockstar-no-boot-self-compiled-kernel/by shyd - Debian
Hi Daze, take a look at Jeff's lenny-script, he downloads a prebuilt tarball with everything except the kernel in it. I think this is what you need to if you want to publish a tarball. If you just want to install some more packages and create several config files you may want to look at gorgone's advanced squeeze script. He uses Jeff's script and installs additional stuff afby shyd - Debian
Hi Daze, 5 min, that's fast! You do have to run these commands to boot the new kernel. I think it would boot the old kernel if you don't, because u-boot boots these files. How gorgone made the installation run that way... I don't know yet, but I'll spend some time. As I wrote on my blog, the kernel needs the arcNumber to identify the device as a dockstar to enable the righby shyd - Debian
Hi Daze, good luck to you! Wow, Ubuntu on an i7, that has to be an incredible fast system... How long does a build process take? :-) shydby shyd - Debian
Sure, here it is.by shyd - Debian

Hi, I already compiled a 2.6.37 with LED support and it works. But now I have two questions: 1. I want the heartbeat mode on startup, what do I have to patch or modify to get it back? 2. Can I simply rename the LEDs back to health and misc by editing Jeff's patch, or will this cause something I don't want to happen? Thanks shydby shyd - Debian
wow thank you very much! I will report back when I'm done. see you in 2011 cheers lin_win Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > installing liplianin and yavdr on dockstar. > > My Mini Tut. > Thanks to gorgone, the yavdr team, google and many > others for helping me. > > And sorry, if sometimes i could not find the best >by shyd - Debian
Yeah, that would be nice! Looking forward for your tut :)by shyd - Debian
Thanks for your answer! Will this help you? http://mercurial.intuxication.org/hg/s2-liplianin/file/054f002f4d23 lin_win already tried to do this (http://forum.doozan.com/read.php?2,582,2328#msg-2328) I'm not sure where to start and how to include the source in a new kernel. If I did, I'd give it a try.by shyd - Debian
Hi, everything works fine for me an my dockstar for now! Would it be possible to build a kernel with s2-liplianin support, so I can easily install it to use a TT S2-3600 and a TT CT-3650 CI? Thanks in advance shydby shyd - Debian
