The problem is not the label, but that HDD causing the EHCI timeout.by WarheadsSE - uBoot
@ingmar_k : Yes, there is. That information should be searchable on the net. google "linux kernel arm compression" although I need to check the compression algorithm again. I think we changed it a bit ago.by WarheadsSE - uBoot
If they pulled my patches, it should in theory work for that device, but I can't speak to the uboot on the 310.by WarheadsSE - Debian
Nope. I just wait for it to finish booting. Only happens when it is "cold".by WarheadsSE - Debian
Yup, that is one of those patterns. I think they screwballed the SoC init, and a power cycle resolves it. Sometimes, like in my case, it does overboard.by WarheadsSE - Debian
Arch Linux uses an lzma compressed zImage to make the uImage, as the performance has come out on top.by WarheadsSE - uBoot
Which device? 325? Some earlier revisions of the v1 seem to have an over-acheiving watchdog with a wonky capacitor. I have one of these myself. Symptoms: If "cold", takes ~3 tries to make it far enough into the kernel to shut off the watchdog Result: power, fan spin (varying rate), disk spin, disk read, hard power blip @ the mains into the board. (the MCU mashes the SoC reset)by WarheadsSE - Debian
I'd just love it if I could get source material for the changes Davy's been making to uboots .. we could collaborate and make it work for all the works-for-both-distro devices. Like getting the V4 to boot sata AND mmc, not one or the other.by WarheadsSE - Debian
You would need to add a loading of the uInitrdby WarheadsSE - Debian
If the board is identical, other than casing and fan, then sure, the existing 325 should work. I can't confirm that is the case however.by WarheadsSE - Debian
It's newly announced, and at least to my knowledge, should be similar to the 325, but I can't say it will work until tested/provenby WarheadsSE - Debian
Uploaded, see ALARM.by WarheadsSE - uBoot
is that a Kirkwood or an OXNAS? (probably an OXNAS)by WarheadsSE - Debian
The "back plate" can not be removed. Those are the case screws. You could remove the fan from the case, but I would not advise it.by WarheadsSE - Debian
You had better be damn sure that is a Kirkwood.by WarheadsSE - uBoot
IIRC - the NSA320's MCU controls the PWM of the fan, same with the NSA325by WarheadsSE - Debian
I'd like to take a moment and thank chessplayer for donating the NSA325 so that Arch Linux ARM could generate patches to mainline to support it. We have complete & working kernel patches at this time, with no issues.by WarheadsSE - Debian
Sounds to me like a nanddump is in order.by WarheadsSE - Rescue System

If your disk is running, but not seen, I sould start with confirming your arcNumber value, then look at causing your sata bus to rescan. echo "0 0 0" > /sys/class/scsi_host/host0/scanby WarheadsSE - uBoot

The network "flakyness" is actually a very annoying known issue with their design. Twiddling power on resume to ON will solve the issue, as an intermediate step.by WarheadsSE - uBoot
DEAR GOD DON'T FORCE IT. They are not compatible: Kirkwood & Oxnas!by WarheadsSE - uBoot
On the Kirkwood based plugs, they are handled by systemd. If you do not feel comfortable doing that, there is a recipe for using rc.local with systemd that you can use/replicate at the Systemd entry on the Arch wiki. Otherwise, I suggest screen :)by WarheadsSE - Debian
Please stop saying "EFI and GPT". GPT is a parition scheme, EFI is 'Extensible Firmware Interface' and not related, as these devices are NOT x86. You will need a GPT Hybrid. Period. Unless I am mistaken, uboot itself does not have GPT support at this time.by WarheadsSE - uBoot
