Brilliant! It works! This is what I've been trying to do but haven't figured out how to go about it. Thanks Vlad. Now my Goflex Net always boots from the right partition as long as it has the right label. kraqh3d, I did that but my uboot wouldn't accept the root as a label. Maybe you have a more up-to-date uboot version?by playdude - Debian
Interrupt uboot. Initialise usb with this command: usb start When you see the error message run the above command again. Is usb initialised after this command is run for the second time? If it is, you probably need to add the command to bootcmd to ensure reliable booting.by playdude - uBoot
nguyen Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > flash_eraseall /dev/mtd3 Cheers for this mate. I've been wanting to format mtd3 to jffs2 for some time but haven't been able to find out how. Turns out flash_eraseall does the jffs2 formatting when it erases it.by playdude - uBoot
Charade, have a look at the file /etc/init.d/rcS Do you see this line? #/etc/init.d/hbmgr.sh start If you see it, remove the # sign so that it becomes /etc/init.d/hbmgr.sh start The next time you restart your Pogo services should start as well. You need to make your file system writable first though. Try these commands: #make file system writable mount -o remount,rw /by playdude - Debian
Smallest? I should have said quietest. It can be docked to the usb port on top too so it's pretty convenient.by playdude - Debian
I mount the file system and tar it. I get too nervous when I dd because one wrong key in the dd command and my data could be gone.by playdude - Debian
Yeah the WD Elements is great. It has no fan, is quiet and knows how to spin the drive down when not in use. I also have the smaller 2.5 Freeagent as well. It's the smallest external laptop hard drive I've used yet. This one can spin down too.by playdude - Debian
