Bodhi, You are the man! Both worked. It's midnight here so I'll have to leave trying to set up Debian until later. It's awesome that I can keep my Samba running in Arch until that point. Don't forget to PM me your paypal if you haven't already. Do I still need to go through part D. Add uEnv.txt to /boot directory? Have a good nightby Waynosan - uBoot
Bodhi, OK, I went through the steps of flashing the default envs.... everything looked good until step B f. There was no /boot/dts directory in my arch so I just cleared that variable fw_setenv dtb_file From there I went back to step A and I rebooted with the only the Debian rootfs USB flash drive plugged into the PP. I got this in the serial console: U-Boot 2015.10-tld-1 (Nov 06by Waynosan - uBoot

Bodhi, thank you for the reply. At the time it wasn't totally clear to me if I had to do this step or not, but now I have my answer. ;) Coincidentaby Waynosan - uBoot
Hi Bodhi, I installed your uBoot per step A from here: confirmed that it shows in the serial console when booting: U-Boot 2015.10-tld-1 (Nov 06 2015 - 15:46:25 -0800) I did not flash the default uboot.envs or do any of the other steps. Bohdi, I'd actually like to give Debian a whirl. I'm following the steps described here: http://forum.doozan.com/read.php?3,23727 I started going through the steps to update the U-boot here: http://forum.doozan.com/read.php?3,12381,12381#msg-12381 It's been slow going since it appears that most of the commands that are used like wget, U-boot tools, etc. did not come wiby Waynosan - uBoot
Update: I found another USB thumb drive that I had lying around. Did the same thing as above but this time got the following results... not sure why the USB thumb drive works but the USB spinning drive does not. Hi, I have a Pink v02 Pogoplug that had Archlinix and SAMBA server running nicely. For some reason (update perhaps?) the setup stopped working a few months back and I've finally found some time to try to get this fixed. When plugged in the front LED does not turn on and only the green LED on the ethernet port lights up. The device does not show up as a connected device in the router staby Waynosan - uBoot
Additional quick question... if I want to move ALARM from the slow USB flash drive that I'm currently using to a small USB HD that I have are there any modifications necessary? I was able to copy (using cp) ALARM from one USB flash drive onto another without issues (ALARM booted up and I was able to SSH into it w/o problems), but when I did the same using a USB HD as the destination then I&by Waynosan - uBoot
bohdi, Thank you so much again for your help. I was planning on perhaps following this procedure and using Jeff's uboot as listed here: http://www.instructables.com/id/Linux-hints/step6/Pogoplug-V2/ Do you foresee any issues with this approach? Again, you've helped more than enough so if you're done with this topic don't feel bad about not answering. All the besby Waynosan - uBoot
OK, I see. I'm not married to Archlinux; it's just that there are the most examples for setting it up on the internet for at least some of what I want to do with it. Being a noob regarding this stuff I figured it would be the easiest way to approach it. OK, I had to reboot before copying the blparam file on because I have Mint on the same PC. After I copied the file onto another USB stick I was not able to reconnect to PP2 over the serial bus (or at least Putty wouldn't display anything). After rebooting PP2 it still wasn't showing anything but I knew things weren't too bad because I got an orange LED on PP2 and both ethernet liby Waynosan - uBoot
@bodhi, So can I reboot it now? Not sure how to get the blparam binary onto the USB stick otherwise. The USB stick is in ext3 format so I don't think that my windows machine will read it. I can boot up Mint and put it on the USB stick that way. Let me know which is preferred and if it needs to be in one of the specific directories that you mentioned. OK, I went back and used nanddump to back up mtd0. It lists as a filesize of 1081344. I wasn't sure how to perform this step though: 4. Be sure there is no bad block in the first 1M of your NAND (check dmesg) I have the contents of the blparam from PP1. I started up PP2 and aborted the bootup. OK, the USB stick is sbd1. I backed up the mtd partitions (all 4) to the USB stick, using the process here: http://ahsoftware.de/dockstar/ Here is what I have: -bash-4.3# ls -l -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1048576 Feb 8 17:19 mtd0.img -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 51 Feb 8 17:19 mtd0.img.sha1 -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 4194304 Feb 8 17:19 mtd1.img -rw-r--r-by Waynosan - uBoot
OK, I downloaded the NAND tools and made them executable. Embarasingly, I do not know how to mount the USB drive. I tried a few things to figure out its location but commands like 'fdisk -l' and 'lsblk' do not work, and neither does the /dev/sda1 location. Yes, if you can help walk me through it it would be great. So far, I've not gotten much help in the other forum regarding fixing the systemd service so this could be my saving option. Hello, I'm looking for some troubleshooting help for my Pogoplug (Pink E02) v2 which, from what I gather, may have a corrupted uBoot, but I'm not positive as I'm a noob in this area.
