Aw shucks ... I'd hoped that I'd stumbled across the magic bullet! Thanks for testing it.by telzey - uBoot
I'll let you know ... when I get that far! I've been breaking-in the box today to make sure that I don't have a lemon before opening it up and soldering in the serial cable. u-boot seems to be building OK, and I'm researching the various configuration settings, and the additions in your earlier dockstar patch. One thing that I did see is that the earlier patch wasnby telzey - uBoot
Thanks, I guess that I'll have fun experimenting ;-) One thing that came up last month on the CodeSourcery mailing list was one guy having problems with his application when using a newer compiler than 2009q3, which seems to have been a problem here as well. Here's his solution which may have no relation to the issues here ... > Stepping through the disassembly for the simplby telzey - uBoot
Yes, I've already looked at Jeff's excellent directions. They contain a LOT of really useful information. Jamie Lentin and Stefan Herbrechtsmeier have already done all of the heavy lifting by providing both u-boot and kernel patches for the DNS325, as well as registering a new machine ID. My task is simply to find out what I need to change in the default u-boot config to get the eby telzey - uBoot

You need to use gdisk or GNU Parted to format disks larger than 2TB using a GPT/EFI partition table. If your u-boot can't boot off a GPT partitioned disk, then you might want to take it up with whoever built it. As far as I can see, GPT partition support was added to the u-boot code base in late 2008 so you'd think that it was stable by now! Don't forget that you'll aby telzey - uBoot
Sorry, I don't know what the SqueezePlug server install script does so I can't answer. I can tell you that it might work for you, and certainly won't make anything worse (as long as you only write the 1st 512MB). Good luck!by telzey - uBoot
Do NOT do that using your full backup of the NAND or you will totally trash you pogo. Use the files from the message in the ArchLinuxArm forum thread ... http://archlinuxarm.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=1172&start=50#p10187 He's even provided a small script in there to make it easier. Search is your friend! You need to follow in varkey's footsteps. Step 1: Install ArchLinuxArm kernel into you Pogoplug's NAND flash memory. Step 2: Modify the default Pogoplug u-boot environment variables to boot the new kernel and look for the rootfs on /dev/sda1 These first 2 steps are part of the basic ArchLinuxArm install instructions. Step 3: Use varkey's Debian rby telzey - uBoot
I don't think that the "uncorrectable bitflips" errors are actually real, I think that they're either deliberate or a bug. On my P21 they occur every 2KB on every single block that has been written on the MTD boot partition. They don't occur at all on the MTD rootfs partition. That suggests to me that either CE changed the RS ECC algorithm for the MTD tools, or maybby telzey - uBoot
The P25 is a pogoplug v3 unit based on the PLX NAS7820 processor and not like a pogoplug v2 based on the Marvell Kirkwood processor. You cannot use Jeff's kirkwood u-boot on the P25. If you try to force it, you'll end up in a world of pain. You can get more information at the archlinux.arm forum, which will help you to get booting from a USB drive. After that you can search bacby telzey - uBoot
Brad ... if you've got a SATA port inside then you've got a pogoplug v3 (ox820 based) and not a pogoplug v2 (kirkwood based). You can't 100% brick the v3 units because the rom on the CPU will boot from SATA even if the NAND is trashed. Go to the archlinuxarm.org forums and ask for help there.by telzey - uBoot
