I've got a SheevePlug eSata (though I never tested the eSata port) and PogoPlug Mobile, I can help with testing (not so much in development). The SheevePlug uBoot definetely got some issues, mainly it won't load uImage from subfolder so I've got a specific boot partition.by dhead666 - uBoot
@bodhi Thanks, I've set my bootarg correctly but I had the wrong assumption that blparam works with this uBoot. It looks like that blparam is writing to the wrong addresses (although it does read the uBoot params and shows the updated params). Setting the param from uBoot by serial fixed it.by dhead666 - uBoot
Anyone knows if it possible that this uBoot version can't transfer coherent_pool boot parameter to Linux ? (tried with Pogoplug Mobile) I've no issue like this with Arch Linux uBoot on Pogoplug eSata. Due to some kernel regression I need to manually set the coherent_pool to 1M so the firmware of my DVB device will load correctly. I only made a quick test and even didn't lookby dhead666 - uBoot
@halogen nano /etc/network.d/wired-eth0 and reboot this may change in the future as arch linux (not arm specific) moved from netcfg to netctlby dhead666 - uBoot
I gave this another look and I think that maybe the module is auto loaded somehow by the kernel but no physical device exist. ls /sys/module will probably show the rt2870 or the r8712u module but no device is registered with it. I tried to unload the r8712u module and blacklist it so I could manually load the rtlwifi module but failed, I have no idea why this failed and why the module is loadedby dhead666 - Debian
@Lucky^Luke, Are you sure your device is bricked ? if you followed the instruction it's really hard to brick the device, you will need to flash the wrong uboot, flash uboot to the wrong address or delete some addresses which the uboot resides. Maybe you only need to set the correct uboot params ? you could do this with serial connection (need a bit of soldering and usb-ttl adapter (notby dhead666 - uBoot
Well this is a Pogoplug v4 and I didn't shoot this image but it's exactly the same layout http://imgur.com/fVdT6n7by dhead666 - Debian
I guessing here but If there's a wireless device it is included in the main Marvell SoC and not on the gigabyte ethernet module on the top. Flip the board, look at a little downward from the front right corner, doesn't this look like an antenna ? (between the top corner to the crystal leg)by dhead666 - Debian
I can't compile the Realtek driver on 3.8 kernel but can on 3.1. I tried to modprob the driver but it seem it does nothing, the device still doesn't list on lsusb. @chessplayer, I think I stuck in the same spot you are. p.s. The r8712u is also on my PogoPlug v4by dhead666 - Debian
@ chessplayer, Have a look at http://wireless.kernel.org/en/users/Drivers/rt2800usb try # modprobe rt2800usb I'm not sure if it feasible to get wireless up and running stable on my PogoPlug Mobile. It seems that there are staging drivers for r8712u that I'm not sure if these are being developed anymore. http://wireless.kernel.org/en/users/Drivers/rtl819x There are some driby dhead666 - Debian
Nice, didn't know about the wireless capability. If I understood it correctly it does support master mode, I definetely gonna try to set it as an ap. usbcore: registered new interface driver r8712uby dhead666 - Debian
Jeez Bodhi, how did I miss that ? I kept the wires soldered to the serial port, so it was only a matter of unscrewing the box and connecting to usb-ttl, like 30 seconds of labor. I did get the "xmodem: Bad message" and had to run kwboot over and over for 10 min' until it started uploading the uboot, but when it did it all that needed were 20 seconds and the pogoplug was back fromby dhead666 - Debian
Hi Bodhi. This uBoot is a little bit mad regarding ext3 and subfolders, sometime it can even load the uImage to the memory (with the right size) but can't execute it. For the freezed Arch Linux 3.1 kernel your uBoot params would work with mmc booting, but not for the 3.8.x linux-kirkwood kernel (although it does for usb booting). For the 3.8.x linux-kirkwood kernel better create aby dhead666 - Debian
