I have another flash drive with Arch on it and I think thats a kernel -3, If not I had a spare flash I could put squeeze on, but thats kernel-2 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Booted into Arch # lsmod Module Size Used by ipv6 259694 14 snd_usb_audio 72415 0 snd_usbmidi_libby richard-g8jvm - Debian
Many thanks Bohdi, I created the media directory and loaded the modules Added modprobe uvcvideo to rc.local and rebooted the modules did not load Tried from CLI and got the FATAL not found message next went in the directory the modules were in and modprobe ./uvcvideo no error message but lsmod showed them not loaded. Hi added the lines first time the rc.local lines were added before the exit 0 rebooted , LED goes off as it should, and when it back its orange. So I put the lines after exit 0 in rc.local rebooted and its still orange BTW its a black E02 The colours are right in Arch, but that needs machid dd6 to work machid dd6 stops Debian from booting, I can pretend its green :) Thanksby richard-g8jvm - Debian

many thanks Bodhi I'm pretty sure its uvcvideo.ko and v4l2-common.ko The headers would be useful, I've not built a kernel module for about 10 years., when it could take up to 2hours to build a kernel.. Maybe a useful exercise to relearn BTW LED's still orange :) Thanksby richard-g8jvm - Debian
Hi still trying to get a web cam running on the pogoplug. Hi Is there anyway of improving the SSH latency on a PogplugE02. No problem with scp up and downloads, but when typing on CLI it seems to hang for several seconds at a time. characters sent are received but not shown , then appear after a few seconds. other times no delay. Top shows nothing taking more than 5%. A ping shows times less than 3ms Is this normal with a pogoplug ?by richard-g8jvm - Debian
Thanks Its now running Wheezey, with the stock kernel, and I'll upgrade the kernel, per link, I did have the arch number set the 3542 before, I hadn't added yet as trying to keep a system that I can change the OS by changing the Flash drive. Adding the ach number on Arch had no effect, so that looks safe to add. At the moment they both boot OK as long as machid dd66 is not entered.by richard-g8jvm - Debian
Thanks, so no value set becomes a null enty , is that correct, and that applies to all entries in fw_env ??by richard-g8jvm - Debian
Changing the ports used to 7660/tcp and 7661/tcp in ect /services. added directoty /var/run/motion added motion.pid , it seems happy with an empty file to start. turned local setting in motion.conf to off I have now a 1 sec sampled noisy frame , I don't think its happy with the webcam. Hi I need to remove an entry from fw_env I had just got to the stage of interchangeable USB flash drives one with debian one with Arch As both booted up with the orange LED on I added fw_env machid dd6 Green Led on Arch when it boots up and now Debian will not boot. Does the debian kernel not like machid dd6 ??? I need to delete that entry , How ????? thanks ################by richard-g8jvm - Debian
And there's more Downloaded Doozans Uboot installer and ran it , reset the previuos settings, and now I have two USB flash drives one with Debian and one with Arch. Next step try with ext2 and load the shyd squeeze installer. no errors on install , but it sits and does nothing and I see nothing on nc port 6666/udp, and the port is open. mounted on this machine the /boot looks like this $ ls config-2.6.32-5-kirkwood uImage initrd.img-2.6.32-5-kirkwood uInitrd System.map-2.6.32-5-kirkwood vmlinuz-2.6.32-5-kirkwood $ ls -l total 12780 -rw-by richard-g8jvm - Debian

Hi having a few problems getting motion running, the daemon is up and running , but ports 8080 & 8081 are closed. I've loaded iptables , but haven't set up iptables for years, so it start again from scatch :( There are plenty of Arch blogs on Motion and webcams, but so far googling is failing with Debian. Sorry newbie type question, but Is it possible to boot into an ext3 partition ?, I've noticed a few posts about failing to reboot after a power outage/failure. I assume using an ext2 partition. I've only just got my pogoE02 and it wouldn't take long to reload Debian , although I found that loading wheezy failed, I had to install squeeze and then upgrade. Hi, new here so no flames for the first 10 posts please The subject says it all. I got a new pogo E02 , loaded debian, then tried Arch, which no matter what I did would not boot, So back to Debian, which wouldn't boot until I forced a reload of uboot.
