Val, I will build a u-boot image for you to test. But first, please check if you can boot with UART by dumping the Boot ROM: at serial console, execute the md command and post the output here. md ff00003c Also: Was that the only output of cat /proc/mtd ? no other mtd 1,2,3…? (I did not see it defined in u-boot code for default env).by bodhi - uBoot

narddawg314, > https://www.adafruit.com/products/954 Yes, it would work. The only thing to watch for is GoFlex Home serial header pins might be a little small for this type of wire connector (I have not needed to connect the Raspi to serial console so don't remember exactly if it is the same size).by bodhi - Debian
Hi Goetz, Sorry I have very little exeperience with JTAG (my new JTAG kit is still in one of the boxes somewhere in the closet)! perhaps others can help you with this.by bodhi - uBoot
Val532, Quote > So i managed to creat fw_env.config like : > # MTD device name Device offset Env. size > Flash sector size Number of sectors > /dev/mtd0 0x70000 0x1000 0x1000 Is this the definition in the stock u-boot? it is quite small. I am looking for mtdparts definition in U-Boot envs, but it does not appear in the list you posted above. In Linux, what is yby bodhi - uBoot

Chroma, Looks like your rootfs in NAND is still messed up. Did you use this procedure? http://support.goflexhome.hipserv.com/en/reflash/index.html This factory reflash is a little flaky, try it again util the LED flashes the correct sequence as desribed in the flashing instrution, if you have not done so already.by bodhi - Debian
Chroma, At serial console printenv Do you plan to install latest Debian or just want to run stock kernel from NAND?by bodhi - Debian

lukami, Which driver do you need for this USB wifi stick? RTL8188C or RTL8192C? have you tried other simlar modules currently in the kernel?by bodhi - Debian
Thanks for the link restamp! very helpful. Great that we do have some way to confirm that the site we're about to visit was patched. I also took down my web server and regenerate the keys.by bodhi - Debian
Please post the whole boot log! And the listing of printenv.by bodhi - Debian
Pancho, Yes. This U-boot supports DTS. You need to load the dtb and include it in bootcmd. See instruction in the latest update in the 1st post (at the end). Section: Booting with Debian FDT Kernel.by bodhi - uBoot
And I must say, what a mess this Heartbleed bug has caused! it's a pain-in-the-you-know-where finding info about which website you have account that was affected by this and whether they have patched it (they should have by now) :) Some interesting info: http://www.bbc.com/news/technology-26971363 Note that Amazon is not affected. Hi restamp, I recall that I added the contrib non-free repo area back when wheezy was still in testing. And some packages were included in the upgrade, but they were not yet conformed to DFSG (Debian Free Software Guidelines). But after Sept 2013 (in my upgrade log), no packages from this repo area appeared on the log. So I think they were finally accepted into the main area.by bodhi - Debian
razorjack, For your purpose, 256MB is good enough. But 512MB of NSA320 is even better (room for growth). Some people even run OMV on GoFlexHome which has only 128MB!by bodhi - Debian
Hi restamp, Yes, I think you did. But my is slightly different. I included contrib non-free to get all the security updates for packages that are not in mainline Debian. However, this might not be neccessary if you never install things that are out-of-distribution. deb http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian wheezy main deb http://security.debian.org/ wheezy/updates main contrib non-freeby bodhi - Debian
restamp, They did. Shai, I would do this: - Get a reliable brand USB stick such as Sandisk. Format it as Ext3, extract my rootfs to it, following the instruction. And try booting with that. - If that fails, then get a serial console. With serial console, it's quite easy to solve any booting problem. Consider it's an opportunity of get this going! For Pogo E02, it's really easy, no solderingby bodhi - Debian
Shai Ayal, Your U-Boot envs look normal. I don't see why the rootfs should not boot. The only thing to do is to re-examine the steps you did to create the rootfs, as root user, sync,…. And if you can connect with SSH then then login is root/ceadmin. But you can also re-enable SSH at the website and change the user/password there.by bodhi - Debian
chris5h, Currently, wheezy sctript has problem with debootstrap. So run the squeeze script, and then later upgrade it to wheezy QuoteJeff Alternatively, you can choose to install Debian Squeeze with the following commands: cd /tmp wget http://projects.doozan.com/debian/dockstar.debian-squeeze.sh chmod +x dockstar.debian-squeeze.sh export PATH=$PATH:/usr/sbin:/sbin ./dockstar.debian-sby bodhi - Rescue System
Shai Ayal, What's your U-Boot envs look like? pls interrupt netconsole at boot and execute printenv and post output here.by bodhi - Debian

Shai Ayal, Netconsole only shows "Starting kernel ..." and stops there until the system can mount rootfs, and then starts again (given you have enabled the netconsole module in initrd). So it does not necessarily mean you have missed something in the steps above. If something went wrong between this message and actuall rootfs loading, it will seem to be stuck.
