I found a good report on DockStar Cooling project. Its translated by Google Translate. Basically, a combo of cooling tape & cooling paste & heatsink & thermal insulation tape is used to prevent DockStar overheating under full load and at idle, and its cable burning. Add to it rubber fits suggested by bodhi, and you'll get life long performance from this small devil. :)by sambul14 - Off-Topic
Thanks. I can see Uboot output this way in Netconsole in Windows, but not kernel output. Any way to see both in Windows? I could see both outputs before with Jeff's Uboot in one ASUC terminal in Windows, if ncip and ncipk were assigned the same IP. After replacing bodhi's Uboot version with moonman's Arch Uboot 2015.10, I'm having a problem with Netconsole. If its up on a PC, Serial Console doesn't show up the wait prompt at boot and Uboot initial output, and neither Netconsole. Its also impossible to interrupt the process and send commands neither in Serial, no in Netconsole. I used ASUC and Netcat in Windows, and Netcaby sambul14 - uBoot
You would have a hard time motivating the bird to co-operate with the drone or do selfies. But you can try.. I like the profit part though. :)|(:by sambul14 - Allwinner A10
Chroma keying is not that easy in practice with simplistic software as it looks in TV Studio done in hardware. As to bird chasing with a drone, it can produce unexpected results, since the bird will try to fly away from the drone, and they are very efficient at maneuvering in the air. I guess your drone may not survive the chase. :) Besides, birds can sharply drop speed and park on trees thatby sambul14 - Allwinner A10

@JoeyPogoPlugE02 Thanks. I can see Elph-115 having USB2.0 port to hook to a board and no Mic, but what Linux program you can control it with over Lan, including watching footage through a web UI? @bodhi Thanks for your prompt and accurate replies that tend to be "constructive". :) Anyway, user Alarm is not registered in my Linux VM, so it shouldn't capture "/" no matter whether the tarball was unpacked by root or another user under sudo su. Not sure if this Ubuntu distro even allows to login as root. Here's what I had before installing Arch Uboot:by sambul14 - uBoot
@bodhi > A very common mistake: not being root while extracting the rootfs. Xmm... I extracted the rootfs as root (sudo su) in a Linux VM on a Windows PC, since a user wouldn't have write access to the disk selected. Its faster and makes more sense than downloading and extracting the tarball on a hardware challenged DockStar. Anyway my username in the VM is different from Alarm. I dby sambul14 - uBoot
Assuming you have a DockStar box, you could install Arch distro yourself, and then we'd both assume you did something wrong because it won't let you in via SSH. :)I(: I was a bit busy with other things for a couple of years and needed some refresh, but I catch up fast.by sambul14 - uBoot
Is there a config file in Linux to set a sending serial console window size? I can set the receiving Serial Console window size in Putty settings in Windows, but not the sending frame size by an ARM device. But similar serial config must exist on the device, since it always sends serial frame of some default size. So if Putty window is manually resized, it still shows previous size frames receiveby sambul14 - Debian
@bodhi You were right. The default dir "/" ownership was changed to Alarm in the distro. No way to decipher the failure cause from systemd logs. It looks like ArchLinux 4.3 introduced using initramfs-kirkwood.img at boot instead of initrd. It caused similar network access issues for other users. Hi guys, I'm trying to re-use my old DockStar for a new project. Hence a few questions: 1. Can the latest U-Boot 2015.10 start ArchLinux ARM with older 3.x kernel, or I do need to upgrade both U-boot and OS to the latest? 2. I had a similar issue, so post the solution here to help others. Apparently, if you Restore old uBoot on mtd0 according to Jeff's procedure or the above linked procedure via Netconsole or Serial, original Dockstar Uboot is flashed to NAND, which doesn't support SATA, only USB.
