Thank you for sharing your time @bodhi.by brainflurry - Debian
Thanks @bodhi for taking the time to respond. I will plan to go the USB Debian rootfs route, since the instructions are readily available. Is it possible to go from booting Debian on the POGO-V4-A3-01 to booting Debian (or ALARM) from a SD Card per Qui Hong's method? If so, what section of his tutorial should I start with after booting the USB Debian rootfs? Thanks for your help.by brainflurry - Debian
It appears the PogoPlug has abandoned SSH support. I've invested in an Armorview PL2303HX and 3 pin JST SM Male Female plug. Is it possible to flash new uboot from serial console? If so, can anyone refer me to any resources detailing the process? My goal is to use the serial console to get my POGO-V4-A3-01 unit to a point where I can employ Qui Hong's method of installing Arch Liby brainflurry - Off-Topic
I settled on the Armorview PL2303HX and 3 pin JST SM Male Female plug. The last time I connected to a device via console I used HyperTerminal but nowadays I think PuTTy will be the best utility for Windows. Let me know if anyone has a better suggestion. Quotebodhi IIRC, some forum member have reported about this SSH enable option is no longer available at pogplug.com. You would need to connect serial console to log in. http://forum.doozan.com/read.php?2,27943,28014#msg-28014 The link you provided confirmed my suspicions. I've been wrestling with a POGO-V4-A3-01 for better than a week and have unregistered and re-registered the devicby brainflurry - Debian
As I was going through the guide again to check for anything I may have missed, I read in the comments that the issues with the broken links had been resolved just today. So, I followed the guide again using the links provided therein and it worked like a charm! So, it looks like the more recent uboot.2014.07-tld-2.pogo_v4.bodhi.tar, uboot.2014.07-tld-2.environment.bodhi.tar and Debian-3.17.0-kirby brainflurry - uBoot
Hi Rickgtx, Thanks for the follow-up. I had already consulted the DHCP Clients Table on my router and neither the mac address for the PogoPlug nor any other device (besides those normally on my network) were listed. I also used an IP scanner that did not find any additional devices. Just out of curiosity, I took the additional step of changing the IP address of another workstation to be witby brainflurry - uBoot
I installed Debian to boot from an SD card using Qui's post titled Hacking the Pogoplug v4 (Series 4 and Mobile) with Linux (Debian or Arch). I followed the guide closely, with the only substitution being files that had broken links. I substituted; uboot.2014.07-tld-1.pogo_v4.bodhi.tar with uboot.2014.07-tld-2.environment.bodhi.tar uboot.2014.07-tld-1.environment.img.bodhi.tar with uboby brainflurry - uBoot
