Yes *MOST* usb storage devices are supported by uboot, I was using a 2.5" for my rootfs for a while but running smb shares from the remainder of the drive was really slooow, i sugest a thumb drive, also ext4 is supported BUT ive had issues with it, i found that i had less issues if i installed to ext3 and upgraded the filesystem to ext4by dbstrand24 - Off-Topic
well i wasnt actually looking for a uboot solution lol good point i actually want to solve the issue with kernel/ramdisk from nand if you make uboot boot a kernel from nand and have rootfs as usb it should solve the issue if im not mistaken... *edit* Then again i have not see anyone talking about this kidb of boot method......by dbstrand24 - uBoot
Hey what version pogoplug? im assuming v4 because the v2 does support >3.2 kernels with updated uboot....by dbstrand24 - Off-Topic
Hey guys thought this might be relevent for a few people who have lower end kirkwoods e.g. Pogoplug v4 (unsure ov v2 and v3 as i dont have them) :) to change clock speed there are several 0Ω resisters(they are not actual resisters but rather jumpers) NOT soldered to the board that set the cpu multiplier Now im unsure as to exactly where all of them are BUT i have a few hints ive found overby dbstrand24 - Off-Topic
I'm interested... i came over here from archlinux cause they all seem to be royal ahem... any way i'd gladly take a small role i cannot fulltime mod but i have alot of free time :)by dbstrand24 - Off-Topic
im looking for the same thing man its frustrating as hell *edit* My pogoplug v4 has this issue, my GoFlex Home does notby dbstrand24 - uBoot
i have a GoFlex Home and i seriously doubt that the kirkwood board in either gfh or gfn has more than one usb host, that being said an internal hub is easy, external easier though :Pby dbstrand24 - Off-Topic
Wifi is easy :D plug it in, install wpa support connect :Pby dbstrand24 - Off-Topic
im not sure such an animal exists, though i can pull the binaries from android and play with them though i seriously doubt that you will have any usable interface...by dbstrand24 - Off-Topic
I have the GFH and a ppv4mobile, id sugest either but if its for such basic function i wouldnt worry so much about kernel support honestly all the way on the right is my gfh , yes that is a laptop heat sync lolby dbstrand24 - Off-Topic
Hey guys im not new to arm distros been running arch on my GoFlex Home for 2 years LOVE it :P my issue is not unique ive heard many people complain about their devices only booting when ONLY the thubmbdrive/rootfs device is plugged, that sucks especially if your using services that want all filesystems mounted e.g. transmission/pogoplug services.... over at archlinux forums people shrug it ofby dbstrand24 - uBoot
was wondering i mucked with my rootfs and i cannot use certian binaries under /sbin/ i have a pogoplug mobile v4 i grabbed ur backups but im almost 100% sure my mtd scheme is different it is as follows # cat /proc/mtd dev: size erasesize name mtd0: 00200000 00020000 "u-boot" mtd1: 00300000 00020000 "uImage" mtd2: 00300000 00020000 "uImage2" mtd3:by dbstrand24 - uBoot
