It's REALLY hard to solder SMD resistors with young eyes, I wouldn't even try with my eyes with glasses and a magnifying glass to boot. I had enough trouble soldering the serial wires to one of my V4-A3's that I had bricked after screwing up the env's. More power to the one who gets it done and posts the proof.by LeggoMyEggo - Off-Topic
I hate to have noticed the resistor looks photoshopped. Wishing the guy could have at least posted some benchmarks for a comparison in performance....I would have. If it's legit, that's awesome.by LeggoMyEggo - Off-Topic
I recently purchased some more 16GB USB 3.0 Ultra Fit drives as they were cheap. Not only are the new drives smaller in capacity (14.9GB vs. 16.0GB) they DO NOT boot reliably in my E02 whereas the older UF's worked in my E02 without issue. It should be noted the newer UF's present no issues to my Pro V3 so there must be some issue unique to the Kirkwoods that causes booting issues.by LeggoMyEggo - Debian

A Dreamplug is best bet if you want to stay with Marvell. No other Plug type non NAS device has 2 ethernet, esata w/port multiplication and built in SD card slot. It is completely supported in Debian mainline and you can even net install it. They are old enough now that you can find on eBay for less than $50 shipped frequently. Finally found the time to get this done, see here Pogoplug Pro V3 Internal SSD Mod for the method I used to add a completely internal SSD to the Pogoplug Pro V3. Notice I have also done the external antenna mod for the wireless NIC onboard so both can coexist at the same time. The hardest part to the whole mod was soldering the 5 volt wires to the front USB port but once that is done the wholeby LeggoMyEggo - Off-Topic

I have a RaspI 2 and after toying with it, i gained more respect for my 'Plugs. Sure, if IOT is your thing, the Raspi is hard to beat. y But in particular my Pro''s have a lot of capabilities and good speed which in terms of its age (introduced like 5 years ago?), it really performs spectacularly. Swap is not enabled by default because bodhi tries to keep the Debian image as stock and light as possible. It's easy enough to create a swap file which performs similarly to a swap partition. In fact a swap file might be better because you can adjust it as needed.by LeggoMyEggo - Debian
Download the files you need (utilities and flash files) on a desktop machine running Windows or Linux. Put the files on a flash drive formatted to Fat32. On the plug, use busybox to create a directory in /tmp (i.e. mkdir /tmp/flashloc) and mount the flash drive to that location - usb start, mount /dev/sda1 /tmp/flashloc. Cd to /tmp/flashloc. I wasn't ignoring grayman4hire's (Qnology) blog, I was just trying to prevent confusion by referring to steps to get his Pro booting Debian using only threads in this forum. You can load the 3.17.0 rootfs on a flash drive and boot using the stock u-boot by following the directions here: http://forum.doozan.com/read.php?2,16044 . Look for the section with the 3.17.0 Debian rootfs dowload link and follow the directions underneath it to flash it to a drive.
