I've posted reply in the Debian section thread: http://forum.doozan.com/read.php?2,14558,14563#msg-14563by bodhi - uBoot
bertc3p0, uBoot has to be built for a specific box. So far I've uploaded only 3 uBoot images: GF Home, GF Net, and Pogo E02. I have built the Dockstar uBoot, and running it, but have not tested it with the large HDD. I would take request, but nobody has asked for it yet, so did not have motivation to complete the testing :)by bodhi - Debian
notmine & StephenR0, Thanks notmine for a really good report! It is encouraging to hear that Pogo E02 works with this Readycache in USB mode. We know that now we can eliminate big part of the problem. However, the problem StephenR0 saw still remain because it was with the GoFlex Net. And that was SATA connection problem. I've received the SSD yesterday and plugged it in the GoFlexby bodhi - Debian
Tom62, Dang! the NSA310 is really different from its big brothers :) I did not recall anybody reported that for NSA320, or perhaps I missed it? Thanks for testing Tom. I will be on the road in a few days, but will get you the updated kernel to fix the fan before that.by bodhi - Debian
Kernel 3.12.0-kirkwood-tld-4 package was uploaded. Please see 1st post for download link.by bodhi - Debian
@bertc3p0, Glad you've sorted it out! So I see you've installed Emdebian following Jeff's instruction. And your rootfs is emdebian, but you also updated the kernel with Linux-3.12.0-kirkwood-tld-3 ? how large is your rootfs now? I assume it fits the Dockstar remaining 255MB NAND without problem? did you have to remove any module?by bodhi - Debian
johnklos, See here: http://forum.doozan.com/read.php?2,11663by bodhi - uBoot
bertc3p0, If you want to boot from USB , then your bootcmd definitely has problem. If you want to boot from NAND then the rootfs must be in NAND, which is not there right now (your mtd1 name is data). If this was not the answer you're looking for, please post your output of printenv in serial console and tell us a little more details of what you're trying to do.by bodhi - Debian

The correct sequence to boot UART on a target that is quirky, for example Pogo V4 or Mobile: - connect to the host using SSH. - execute kwboot command on the host. It will start spining the / character clockwise direction. - reboot the target (or coldboot). You should see the / character starts spinning in counter clockwise direction (slower speed) when it tries to handshake. Wait a few seby bodhi - Debian
Mark, Here it is: kwboot md5: 0efd011bdb244436e432a8de33e639a1by bodhi - Debian
You can use f2fs as rootfs, but the /boot needs to be in ext2 or ext3 partition. So - create 2 partitions on your USB thumb using fdisk. 1st partition is bootable Linux, second is normal Linux. - format the 1st partition as ext2 or ext3 - format the 2nd partition as f2fs - extract rootfs to 2nd partition (see rootfs download and instruction in my signature) - copy /boot to 1st partition aby bodhi - Debian
Buttzy, I think the 2nd dump command is the right one (one that produces exact 512 KB) nanddump -nf uboot.mtd0.bak -l 0x80000 /dev/mtd0 The correct sequence is - execute kwboot command on the host (with option -p). It will start spining the / character clockwise direction. - reboot the NSA25. You should see the / character starts spinning in counter clockwise direction when it tries tby bodhi - Debian
Hi Mark, > I do like to try UART Booting but I only have one > PC with WIN7. I have kwboot binary only for ARM. I'm not sure if there is such a version for x86. Do you have another Kirwood plug that you can run it from? I thought you do have both the Pogo E02 and NSA320?by bodhi - Debian

Buttzy, The numbers in the header don't make sense to me! So let's just trial and error. Dump only 4 blocks (512K). nanddump -nof uboot.mtd0.bak -l 0x80000 /dev/mtd0 and (I doubt that the below will work, though) nanddump -nf uboot.mtd0.bak -l 0x80000 /dev/mtd0 See which one get the UART booting working :) If neither works then we're back to the drawing boaby bodhi - Debian
Thanks Buttzy, I'm looking at it. I have to look for my old notes to find the format!by bodhi - Debian
This is applicable to your situation, too: http://forum.doozan.com/read.php?3,14512,14516#msg-14516by bodhi - Debian
Another option is using this rootfs: http://forum.doozan.com/read.php?2,12096 I compiled with L2 disabled during boot in this kernel so that it can be used with old uBoot!by bodhi - uBoot
Yes. However, using rootfs label will get around this timed out problem , sometime but not in all cases. See here for how to set it: http://forum.doozan.com/read.php?3,8044,8152#msg-8152by bodhi - uBoot

Buttzy, Can you pm me the mtd0 dump, or upload it somewhere? I'd like to take a look at the binary. Thnx.by bodhi - Debian
Buttzy, Regarding the uBoot dump (http://forum.doozan.com/read.php?2,12096,14462#msg-14462). The dump is more than what uBoot image is (should be only 512K). If Marvell padded it then it is 512K, if not then we don't really know the exact size. Have you tried to boot UART with Davy's uBoot image?by bodhi - Debian
It is normal. The USB device detected was the hub. UBI error is normal too, since it tried to use mtd3. Everything looks OK. Also look in dmesg to see if there is any error.by bodhi - Rescue System
To answer SoL question: QuoteShould I expect drive and panel leds to work? on the power button and led just below that are on. power = blue and system status or led just below power is orage and usb is green when I have a usb device plugged in. See LED controls in /etc/rc.local, and /etc/rc0.d/K07halt. For NSAxx LEDs control, see posts by pbg4 in this thread: http://forum.doozan.com/rby bodhi - Debian
Please post in this thread http://forum.doozan.com/read.php?2,14351 for NSA325 related stuff. We are OT for a while, it's hard to find some posts that burried under on-going working topic such as NSA3xx boxes.by bodhi - Debian
