HP T5325 with bad flash - what to do?
July 28, 2017 02:23AM
I seem to have received a faulty hp t5325 with bad flash.
The unit won't boot and reports kernel panic and errors in squashfs.
I tried flashing the latest official software from the hp, it installs without errors but again errors pop up.
Sometimes the unit boots fine but shortly afterwards it freezes.
Is there any way I can salvage it while I wait for another one to be sent?
Thank you.

kalehrl,

You can boot with kwboot using another Linux box. And then boot the Debian-4.12.1-kirkwood-tld-1-rootfs-bodhi.tar.bz2 rootfs on USB:

See the HP T5325 working thread to see how others boot the new u-boot using kwboot:

These are some screenshots I made during booting the bad hp t5325.
I'm waiting for CP2102 USB TTL to arrive.
I read about kwboot and I have a Linux laptop so I believe I can just install u-boot-tools and get kwboot binary without the need to search for precompiled binaries.

You dont need to search for kwboot. It is right here in the u-boot installation thread;

And the x86 kwboot is in davygravy thread:

A precompiled binary of kwboot (built on a 64-bit Ubuntu system) is attached, in a tarball w/ man page. The contents of the man page are listed below, also.

I've got a 32bit Debian stable and I guess kwboot from u-boot-tools should work.
