That procedure does not apply to this DS414j box. It is for the DS414 which is Marvell Armada XP. Your DS414j is Comcerto2k SoC.

I don't have any box with this Mindspeed Comcerto SoC. So cannot help you much.

However, since you can boot to this part:

It means the kernel was corrupted. But not hopeless. You probably can find a FW rescue procedure at the manufacturer website. And that rescue FW should be something you can run at the boot loader prompt, or on a USB drive that automatically runs at power up.

I can't hide my unknowledgement anymore... I'm not an informatician...

Maybe for someone who know what you talking about.

I googled some stuffs, like "synology fw rescue", "Mindspeed C2000 fw rescue" or "Mindspeed C2000 kernel restore" or so many different things... Sometimes, i though i've found... until I had to see the evidence, I don't understand anything...

I asked to the Synology support... The only answer was : Buy a new one... Screw them

It seems that i will have to spend 500$ that i don't have... Maybe in 6 months...

Thanks for your time.

Meaning that you could try to find the FW rescue procedure at Synology web site. If you cannot find it there or anywahere else, you could try to find if someone has successfully set up to run Debian or Arch kernel on it.

The boot loader is still running, and you can boot to the Barebox prompt. Usually from there you can reflash the FW.

I don't think I recommend Synology anymore. There seems to be no supports on their web site for rescue FW, or any information about that.

Hi, Seb,

Do you have an DDD41L1 v1.1 board inside DS414j?

And, serial connector - JP1?

Have some trouble with DS414j - network interface is dead and I need to connect via TTL serial to see what happens, is it bricked or what.
