Cant use kwboot to pretest
December 29, 2023 01:31PM
Hello ,

i am trying to convert my NSA325v2 to Debian system.
So in order to be sure i would like to test if the system can handle

uboot.2023.04-tld-1.nsa325.kwb

unfortunately if i use

sudo kwboot -t -B 115200 /dev/ttyUSB0 -b uboot.2023.04-tld-1.nsa325.kwb -p

xmodem stopps at 0%

kwboot version 2022.01+dfsg-2ubuntu2.5
Patching image boot signature to UART
Aligning image header to Xmodem block size
Sending boot message. Please reboot the target...\
Waiting 2s and flushing tty
Sending boot image header (512 bytes)...
  0 % [++++++++++
xmodem: Operation canceled

i am using the CH340G usb-serial conector.

does anyone have an idea what is the cause for such problem?

This kwboot is a bit old.

1. Check if your serial wires are too near a power source. If they are not shielded, the interference might cause this.

2. Try kwboot with older version to verify that the problem is not version specific.

uboot.2017.07-tld-1.nsa325.mtd0.kwb

I had the same issue yesterday. It seems that this behaviour is sometime associate to a "reboot" from SSH.
Try the following:
1) poweroff the NSA325
2) kwboot -t -B 115200 /dev/ttyUSB0 -b uboot.2023.04-tld-1.nsa325.kwb -p (sudo might be not needed even if I normally make a "sudo su" at the beginning)
3) power-on the NSA325 from the push button

In this way I solved the issue.
