2015.10 U-Boot for Pogoplug V3 (OXNAS OX820)

zanyg,

Please post output of

uname -a
flash_erase --version
dpkg -l | grep mtd-utils

The later version of flash_erase seems to give wrong output (I've seen it several times), but it was really working OK.

Since this Pogo V3 series has a rescue mechanism in SATA booting, I would go ahead and flash the u-boot image.

Hi Bodhi, thanks again for helping with my SATA , now to continue with my U boot here is where I get stuck:

I see I have a few issues here, not sure about bad block for 1 and I am doing the tar obviously wrong:)

1. That bad block 249 is ok.

2. You need to dowload the tarball as instructed in the 1st post:

Download U-Boot image at Dropbox

It has been a very long time since I have to do anything with my Pogoplug. Because of the recent GoogleVoice change (long story), and the wonderful of internet...

I need GVSIP, which require me to upgrade to Asterisk 13
In order to upgrade from Asterisk 11 to Asterisk 13, I need Debian 4.1.0
In order to upgrade from 3.14.0 to 4.1.0 (or 4.4.13) I need new U-Boot

which brings me here. I have read the instruction, I do have /etc/fw_env.config and my /proc/mtd looks different than the example. I am unsure if it is safe to proceed.

root@pogoplug:~# cat /etc/fw_env.config
# MTD device name	Device offset	Env. size	Flash sector size	Number of sectors
/dev/mtd0 0xc0000 0x20000 0x20000
root@pogoplug:~# cat /proc/mtd
dev: size erasesize name
mtd0: 00200000 00020000 "u-boot"
mtd1: 00300000 00020000 "uImage"
mtd2: 00300000 00020000 "uImage2"
mtd3: 00800000 00020000 "failsafe"
mtd4: 07000000 00020000 "root"
mtd5: 00010000 00008000 "spi0.0"
root@pogoplug:~# dmesg | grep -i 'bad'
[ 4.121566] Scanning device for bad blocks

You don't have the Pogo V3. The info above indicated that you have the Pogo V4. So this is the wrong thread for it.

Awesome! Thanks!
Re: 2015.10 U-Boot for Pogoplug V3 (OXNAS OX820)

Hi,

What steps above should I follow to upgrade uboot of my POGO PRO. I just want to be sure-sure.

I currently am running Debian 9 on a USB flash drive. All great there except that owncloud 10(nginx, sqlite3, php7) is brutally slow.- different topic though.

My Uboot version is U-Boot 2013.10-tld-4.
I can't boot my sata rootfs version.
I want to boot into SATA rootfs instead of usb. So I believe an upgrade is due...

Can I follow the steps in the first post to upgrade from within my pogo's debian SSH?

Your confirmation would be appreciated.
