Akitio Mycloud Duo with 2015.10 U-Boot for Pogoplug V3 (OXNAS OX820)

Posted by z0rg
Hello please help.

I try to flash new u-boot on Iconbit I-STOR IS608 clone of Akitio Mycloud Duo .
reboot after success flash u-boot:

U-Boot SPL 2013.10 (Apr 27 2014 - 19:08:27)

  plla_ctrl1 : 00400000
  plla_ctrl2 : 007f0068

PLLA Set

And nothing happens. The device freezes.
I correctly understand that the image uboot.2015.10-tld-2.ox820.mtd0.img is written to the wrong place?

output of cat /proc/mtd:

-bash-4.0# cat /proc/mtd
dev: size erasesize name
mtd0: 10000000 00020000 "NAND 256MiB 3,3V 8-bit"
mtd1: 026c0000 00020000 "Boot partition"
mtd2: 0d940000 00020000 "Data Partition"

what am I doing wrong?

The mtd looks correct. This is the stock definition.

Do you have a serial console log before flashing? please post this.

And also if you keep the log of what you did in flashing u-boot, post that too.

I do not have a serial console log before flashing. This is after restoring the dump.

z0rg,

You previous flashing was not successful, this SPL is not what I released:

U-Boot SPL 2013.10 (Apr 27 2014 - 19:08:27)
  Boot device: NAND

Only the Akitio Mycloud Mini has been tried sucessfully. So I think there might be some difference.

However, since you have serial console and can boot with SATA as a fall back. You can try:

1. Boot with SATA, login into Debian and flash the latest u-boot: 2015.10-tld-2.
2. Create a new Debian rootfs on USB using Debian-4.4.54-oxnas-tld-1-rootfs-bodhi.tar.bz2
3. Boot with USB rootfs and verify that it is working for this box.

If everything is OK.If you want to use HDD, then you can switch to a normal HDD rootfs by cloning the USB to the HDD.

Note: I would save this special HDD as a rescue mechanism until after the USB rootfs has been running well.

z0rg,

Does this box have 256 MB RAM? or 128?

z0rg,

Nvm, I saw stock u-boot showed 128MB (this is a more reliable spec than what the kernel showed)

U-Boot 1.1.2 (Mar 2 2011 - 10:17:22)

The warning above is OK, since you have no Ethernet so ntpd could not set the clock.

------

Can you reflash and

1. Run fw_printenv after this step:

10th step
root@debian:~/tmp# nandwrite -s 1048576 /dev/mtd0 uboot.2015.10-tld-2.ox820.environment.img
Writing data to block 8 at offset 0x100000

fw_printenv

2. pinpoint exactly which command resulted in this error?

root@debian:~# [ 3741.837975] __nand_correct_data: uncorrectable ECC error
[ 5676.149752] __nand_correct_data: uncorrectable ECC error

z0rg,

Perhaps you should try the 700 Mhz SPL.

I need to find the download link for you.

That's not uboot.2013.10-tld-3.ox820.bodhi.tar. If you are running this version, the banner should show:

I take it back, you're right! that was my 1st release of this u-boot SPL.

Unfortunately that was the 800Mhz version. I guess I don't have the 700 Mhz, I will have to rebuild that.
