Hi,
I got a bricked dockstar.
I use minicom with a serial adapter and get the following messages:

It's not possible to hit a key fast enough to stop autoboot.

Is there any chance to stop autoboot? How can I do this. In minicom there seems to be a possibility to start a script. Would this be the right way and how to use it?

A badly formatted netconsole command?

Is the TXD of the serial console wired correctly? What happens if your host IP is 192.168.2.3

I think so. The serial is working fine with another dockstar.

There is no chance to press any button on the right time to stop this loop. I never know when there will be the possibility to hit any key to stop autoboot. When I see it, it's too late to press any key...the loop starts again. Is it maybe possible to set a script for pressing any button at the right time to have the possibility to correct the boot-commands?

Hi!

I have the same problem with my goflex net!
I've installed the Jeff's Debian for dockstar / goflex and it stop work (light yellow flashes blinking)!
I don't have the serial adapter yet.
There is a specific type of adapter? Or anyone work?

Actually, I'm not very expert in Linux and any help will be appreciate!!

I messed up the initial install too, and saved with a modified CIA-42 cable.

If you have the cable, and it seems to be all to quick, try to simply let it boot, and meanwhile get the cable detected and installed in your (PC) OS and start the terminal program.

Then use a paperclip to reset it (between power and ethernet)

There is a lot of great info on this forum.

After buying the CA-42 cable, I also bought a connector cable like this one:
Power Cable for XBOX 360 DVD

You only need three of the wires from this connector (and you get two connectors)

I connect to the Dockstar using PUTTY (from Windows). I first needed to install a driver for the CA-42 cable. I found one here:

I TFTP directly to my Windows computer by running the free program:

Before I could get Jeff Doozan's script to work, I had to reflash my Dockstar:
How to ReFlash a DockStar

Apparently, because of an update to the kernel, Jeff's script will no longer function without errors.
Post on updated kernel

I will try gorgone's script on a spare dockstar soon. If anybody has tried this recently, I would appreciate any feedback.
