uboot debian squeeze install fails on pogo-p25
February 22, 2012 10:39PM
Does anyone know any options to get jeff's load on a pogo-p25?

I've tried it and it fails on a few things. I think his version is cool because you can revert back to the pogoplug software, which is what I want.

If anyone knows of any options please help!

Here is how the install fails.

The P25 is a pogoplug v3 unit based on the PLX NAS7820 processor and not like a pogoplug v2 based on the Marvell Kirkwood processor.

You cannot use Jeff's kirkwood u-boot on the P25. If you try to force it, you'll end up in a world of pain.

You can get more information at the archlinux.arm forum, which will help you to get booting from a USB drive.

After that you can search back here or on there for installing Debian if you'd prefer that to ArchLinuxArm (aka ALARM).

The ALARM installation doesn't trash the original pogoplug software, so you can revert to it later if you want.

That sucks :( but at least I know now so I will not try and force it.

Thank you for the information. I'll look there and report back here.
