As long as a new model does not support USB 3.0 I do not see a reason for upgrading.by PlugCluster - Debian
My /tmp problem has disappeared automatically somehow. It is back with mode drwxrwxrwt.by PlugCluster - Debian

Wow, thank you. It is working now. However, there seems to be one difference: I have not created a /tmp directory. After startup there is one belonging to root:root with mode rwxr-xr-x. This has been a tmpfs before. Now it is a real directory. It is not listed under mount anymore.by PlugCluster - Debian
Hello, I have tried to make a backup of my system stick to another stick with this: #!/bin/sh tar \ --exclude=/lost+found \ --exclude=/tmp \ --exclude=/sys \ --exclude=/proc \ --exclude=/mnt \ -cf - / | ( cd /tmp/backup ; tar -xpvf - ) The new stick however does not boot. Wow, I ran upgrade some time ago and rebooted today. It took me some time to realize that I had exactly this problem. Copied the boot files from another dockstar and I am back in business. I have not understood by now, what the mkimage commands from above should do as I did not find a manual entry. I will try to understand this later on. For now I shall keep from upgrading my systems. Yes. I have used Jeff's script to install the machine end of August. Tried to run the mtd0 fix, but it told me that it is already the latest version.by PlugCluster - Debian
I have checked the second dockstar now and I have a similar problem that I can only boot into the rescue system now. Unfortunately "my trick" from the first posting does not work here. When power get up, it does not book my Debian from stick, This is what happens during startup: Second 0: blinking green LED, a lot of the time blinking together with my Toshiba 8 GB stick Second193:by PlugCluster - Debian
Hello, Is there a working USB network adapter for the Debian Squeeze Dockstar? The cheap ebay adapters do not list Linux. I would like my dockstar to have two network adapters. No bridging intended.by PlugCluster - Debian
Hello, Please be aware that I have no idea about what is going on and why my Dockstar is finally booting Debian. I have tried this while being prepared to brick one of my machines. I tried a lot of things to make my dockstar start Debian, when it is powered on, but all attempts have failed. Only pressing the reset button could make my Debian start. One of the things I tried resulted in a coby PlugCluster - Debian
Here is no solution, but a possible workaround: Press the Reset button on the box. My box seems to cold boot into PogoPlug, but warm boot into Debian. As I intend to let it run, this is not a big problem for me.by PlugCluster - Debian
Could it be that the PlugOS has a different IP?by PlugCluster - Debian
Yes. This is what we are doing all the time.by PlugCluster - Debian
I made a mistake, when I thought that SSH was disabled. It was not. A different IP address was assigned from my router, which is an unusual thing as it should always give back the same IP to a MAC address. Thus, though it was flashing orange, I could reconnect with SSH to the new IP address. From here I can install a new Debian.by PlugCluster - Debian
Hello, I have installed Debian Squeeze yesterday and everything seemed to work very well. I had croned a job to retrieve the last 12 songs from my favorite radio station for the first night. Today I could not log in by SSH anymore, although ping was still functional. I rebooted the Dockstar and could log on by SSH again. The radio jobs had stopped at 5am. The system worked for some time agaby PlugCluster - Debian
