I no longer have the GoFlex kirkwood device, as it is somewhere on it's way, hopefully, to be recycled. I'm trying to cleanup some of these dead accounts I don't use any longer. This forum has been helpful in many ways, the people friendly and I appreciate all the assistance I received. Thank youby maihoaomv - Off-Topic
bodhi it worked ok with 4.4 kernel in the latest rootfs release. after several attempts i still couldn't get 4.9 to work at all. i finally got it to work with 4.10. don't know what happened. thank you for your assistance. maihoaomvby maihoaomv - Debian

bodhi Do you think it might have something to do with either the kernel or mtd? I ran tld 1 and wheezy for a year or so and never had a problem with getting the green led to turn off and setting the orange led on at shutdown. I can't swear to it but it seems that the green led turned off when I first installed jessie but after updating to tld 2 was when I noticed the problem with the leby maihoaomv - uBoot
bodhi it looks like in order to get the green led to turn off with any consistency i have to execute echo timer > /sys/class/leds/status:green:health/trigger in the init.d/ halt file prior to to executing echo none > /sys/class/leds/status:green:health/trigger . once I added that to the file it seems to work. bodhi yes it's there in /etc/init.d/halt. funny thing was I tried cutting and pasting echo none > /sys/class/leds/status:green:health/trigger into the terminal and it refused to turn off the led until I issued this command echo timer > /sys/class/leds/status:green:health/trigger After that it seemed to work fine. I installed mpd and mpc on the goflex home (without pulseaudio or alsa installed or an attached sound card) and was able to connect to mpd and stream with icecast but the cpu times where up around 97-98% with 25% mem which made it intermittent. I realize that re-encoding is cpu intensive. Has anyone had any luck with getting mpd to stream icecast on any of the Kirkwood machines?by maihoaomv - Off-Topic
Green led doesn’t turn off at shutdown/halt. I upgraded my goflexhome to jessie with the following: uboot.2014.07-tld-2.goflexhome.bodhi.tar linux-4.1.0-kirkwood-tld-1-bodhi.tar.bz2 (30 June 2015) Debian-3.18.5-kirkwood-tld-1-rootfs-bodhi.tar.bz2 (24 Feb 2015) The led turns solid green when I boot but when I issue the “shutdown -h now” command the green led does not turn-off whenby maihoaomv - uBoot
is there a newer version than 2.8.2? or is this pretty much it?by maihoaomv - Rescue System
Thank you bodhi for getting back to me so quickly. Ops, I guess I should have included the various platforms. I don't know a lot about the differences between the kirkwood and the broadcom but my understanding is the kirkwood is soft float (emulated) and rpi is hard float (hardware). I was able to compile rtl8812au on my GoFlexHome. I changed Makefile PLATFORM like this i386=n and ARM_Rpi=y as mentioned back on page 1 of the post. I was able to build it with a bunch of warnings but no errors. it worked when i did insmod 8812au.ko and it seems so far to be working fine. my question is ARM_Rpi the correct platform to us or should I select a different one and if so which one?by maihoaomv - Off-Topic
my goflex reports openssl at 1.0.1e-2+deb7u9. i'm assuming then that anything greater than 1.0.1e-2+deb7u6 should be safe, as far as we know.by maihoaomv - Debian
Is there a version of the 3.11.1 rootfs that would be better suited to install and run on a partition on the hard drive (i.e. log to ram) rather than a usb? or would I be able to accomplish the same thing by uninstalling busybox-syslogd? thanks mby maihoaomv - Debian
bodhi i found the source code for php5-proctitle here. http://sourceforge.net/p/openmediavault/code/HEAD/tree/trunk/deb/php5-proctitle/ and the instructions for building it is here http://forums.openmediavault.org/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=2734&p=18729#p18685 it only takes a few minutes to build.by maihoaomv - Debian
Yea!!! Got openmediavault 0.5 sardaukar to work on the GoFlex Home. The mdadm is actually a warning as Don Charisma pointed out. The real problem is the /etc/collectd/collectd.conf file. For some reason it is not being correctly configured during installation of omv. hi bodhi with some help from the guys over on the omv forum i was able to compile and build the php5-proctitle package on the goflex home. in order to install pph5-proctitle it requires the installation of pph5. once i did that it installs and fixes that problem but i ran into another problem towards the end (i think) with mdadm arrays and collectd configure. don't know what is going on yetby maihoaomv - Debian

Is there a new uboot that goes with or required for the new "Linux Kernel 3.9.11 Kirkwood package and rootfs" tarball?by maihoaomv - Debian

I already have a wired serial-to-usb cable which works great with ckermit (linux version). Was hoping someone may have already tried this and could give me a few pointers. I'm thinking of trying to convert the wired serial console-to-usb on my GoFlex Home to a wireless-serial-bluetooth. It's also possible to stream tracks from LogiTechMediaServer (which is basically DLNA) installed on the GoFlexHome to an iPad (and possibly iPhone) and you don't need the LogiTech (crippled) iPad app installed either. Has any gotten a Cisco AM10 Valet Connector WiFi dongle to work with the GoFlex series? Hi bodhi thank you for your replay. I really appreciate you taking the time to help me with this problem. I tried daemonizing ezstream the way you suggested but with the same results. I set up the green LED as you suggested. I was manipulating the white LED on the GoFlex Home as a fully booted status indicator. Works great actually. I do have a question. Is it possible to set the blink rate of the timer? The blink rate is about 1 second on and 1 second off. I would like to switch it to something a little bit faster, like half a second on/off.by maihoaomv - Debian
On the Goflex Home the white LED can be turned on to indicate that the unit has completed booting then turned off almost immediately (about 2 seconds) after issuing the reboot or shutdown command to indicate the unit is going down. To turn on the white LED edit /etc/rc.local and add the following command at the end just before the exit 0 (as indicated in the above post): # Turn on the whiteby maihoaomv - Debian
