JRD, Please post the entire serial console boot log here. Also in Debian after login with serial console, get the listing of u-boot env and post here, too. fw_printenv Note: with the new u-boot 2017.07 version, you don't need to use the work around using ethtool anymore (it won't not hurt to do that, though).by bodhi - Debian
I have updated the first post to add a work around for the issue of booting the NAS326 with rootfs on HDD. QuoteUpdated 21 Nov 2017: Zyxel NAS326 HDD booting issue Note: you don't have to worry about this issue if you are booting with USB rootfs. Here is what I found from reading the GPL source to trouble shoot the issue of booting the NAS326 with 2 HDDs, with the rootfsby bodhi - Debian

feas Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Could they be a surface mount type connection? I'm not sure. Usually you'd see a Jxx marking for pintout or something like that. But I can't find it anywhere. Some new boards have a built in serial console on USB. Older boards have Jxx marking next to 4 pins (solder buttons, holes, or actual header).by bodhi - Off-Topic

feas, Looks like my FW load was OK. kekeke, Did you try power up like heiko did (instead of rebooting only): https://forum.doozan.com/read.php?2,36069,42854#msg-42854by bodhi - Debian
I have not disassembled my Steamlink. But I did look the high-resolution pic, and could not find the serial pinouts anywhere! Would be great if one of us will!by bodhi - Off-Topic
Thanks feas! I'll take a look in my Dreamplug. IIRC, I thought this mwifiex_sdio error was gone the last time I look.by bodhi - uBoot
eine, Thanks for reporting! great job :) > Btrfs module somehow didn't load, I had to do it > manually. It's not a big deal for me. Great work, > congrats. Since btrfs is a module, you need to load it early enough in the boot process to make sure it is running before mounting. In sysvinit, we modify the modules file like this: http://forum.doozan.com/read.php?2,95by bodhi - Debian

raffe, > About leds. What can I do with them? Change their > behavior? Or do they not work as standard after > Debian install, so we have to fix it? Normally, they are not turned on in either mainline kernel or customed built kernel such as mine. The trigger files are the control file for each LED. So you need to put statements in /etc/rc.local to control them. For example, yby bodhi - Debian
raffe, Cool! everything looks great. Now you can check if your LEDs control works. See which LEDs were enumerated by the kernel: ls -l /sys/class/leds And see /etc/rc.local for example how to control them. After that it's all system go :)by bodhi - Debian
balanga, Do what feas suggested above. We all have some degree of OCD, or aversions to the unknowns. But in the learning process, sometimes we have to take some small risk in order to get through the next hurdle. You have to trust us to guide you (otherwise you're wasting your time in this forum). The boot log looks really good! The envs also look good enough to used as is. setenv mainlineLinux yes setenv set_mw 'mw 0x800000 0 1' setenv load_bootm 'bootm 0x800000 0x2100000' setenv load_usbuimage 'ext2load usb 0:1 0x800000 /boot/uImage' setenv load_usbuinitrd 'ext2load usb 0:1 0x2100000 /boot/uInitrd' setenv bootargs_usb 'console=tby bodhi - Debian
saschbaer, It is strange that earlyprintk did not give us any output, this could only be the uImage itself is bad, or the load address is wrong for this u-boot. However, I know that helge used 0x800000 and booted OK. It's time to read helge posts and see if what helge done was different from what you have done.by bodhi - Debian
heiko, I've done some testing with my 2.5" HDDs, will let you know what I think later. Can you still boot with the HDD rootfs? just plug that one in the 1st slot.by bodhi - Debian
raffe, Excellent works :) so stock u-boot was built with GPT partitions capability. In the meantime, please get 2 more info: At serial console u-boot prompt, take a look at the partitions ide part In Debian, take a look at the partitions fdisk -l I'll review the log and envs and let you know!by bodhi - Debian
raffe, > Hmm, do you mean it will maybe not be possible > with a 6TB hdd? I was planing to do this (don't > know exactly how to do it yet, but I hope Google > will be able to help me) Yes. Stock u-boot (i.e. old u-boot) usually can not handle GPT partition table (therefore >2TB partition). So it can only see the partitions if you have MBR partition table. I donby bodhi - Debian
