I am using Debian Wheezy on Pogo E2 and Dockstar. Recently I tried to upgrade from Wheezy to Jessie following instructions I found online. The upgrade is successful without error or warning message. After finishing dist-upgrade, everything seems to work fine until I reboot it. After I reboot, I could not ssh into it anymore. I tried to use other port instead of 22, I also tried to create user accby davidnewton - Debian

I have a dockstar worked with debian for a long time. This weekend, I updated the uBoot on it and now, it can not boot into debian anymore. I have tried several flash drives which all work fine on another dockstar with old uBoot (installed over 2 years ago). With the netconsole, it seems that it stopped booting after "start kernel". I don't know if this file should be on the flash drive or on the nand. I have a dockstar with debian which have been working for 3 years without problem. But now, every time I tried to reboot it, it just hangs there, it can not fall-back to original system either. I tried many different flash drives, they all behave the same (those drives work fine on another dockstar). I also tried updating the U-Boot, but still the same. I have been using ddclient to update my host name using DNSOMatic from opendns in debian for several months without issue. But since last week, DNSOMatic starts to give wrong ip address. It looks like that the ip address DNSOMatic given is the DNS server I am using in the main router with dd-wrt firmware instead of my actual external address. dchen: This is the chan_gtalk.so file for 1.8.7.0. I am not sure if it works for other versions. Good luck!by davidnewton - Debian
For those using asterisk to make GV calls, there is an issue again. GV changed something and it does not work again without the patch mentioned here in Page 3. The best solution is from this blog with a patch to handle both situations. https://michigantelephone.wordpress.com/2011/08/19/if-your-asterisk-server-stopped-putting-through-outgoing-google-voice-calls-today-here-is-the-fix-%E2%80%94-by davidnewton - Debian

Bodhi: Thanks a lot. I will try this. BTW, I use the backup flash drive from my dockstar to boot the pogoplug pink. Because of this, there is no file/directory as /sys/class/leds/plug:green:health/trigger, instead, the it is /sys/class/leds/dockstar:green:health/trigger. Thanks a lot for your input. It seems that I am lucky these 2 days: there is no read-only problem come out for the last 48 hours and the log file from logread does not have error message except the error for mtdblock1. I will keep logread running to see if it can catch the I/O error. BTW, is it safe to put the remount as rw instead of ro in the fstab file? Thanks.by davidnewton - Debian
I got some clue about the read-only problem: in the fstab file, I have a line as: /dev/root / ext2 noatime,errors=remount-ro 0 1 So, if there is any error, the file system will be remounted as read-only. Some I/O error must have happened when it was remounted.by davidnewton - Debian
kraqh3d: Thanks for the reply. I use the syslog to catch some logs. There are some errors related to mtdblock1 (as shown below), but with these errors, the flash drive is still writable. So, I guess these errors not related to the read-only problem. I will wait longer to see if re-mount as read-only happens later. My dockstar runs great with debian, but recently I found a strange problem: when I use one of the backup flash drive to boot the dockstar with debian, it works fine and everything seems to be normal, but after 4-10 hours, this drive becomes read-only for some reason, even though it looks like working properly. I checked with this drive from an Ubutun machine using fsck, and no error is found on tby davidnewton - Debian
I got a pink Pogoplug and installed uboot on it then use a backup flash drive for my dockstar debian to boot it up (with the change for the 70-per* and 75-persi* files described by many here, btw, thanks all at lot). It works very well as replacement of the old dockstar with 128MB more memory. The only problem is that the front LED does not do anything now.
