I'm pretty sure the env settings you need to boot from HDD are in this post. https://forum.doozan.com/read.php?3,25120,132904#msg-132904by CodeJACK - uBoot
Thanks empgg3. When I kwboot with you image, none of my disks are found, at least not using the sata init/part commands. Can you share with me a copy of your complied u-boot and I can give feedback on it too? I see from the bugzilla report that it could be an issue with certain disks. Maybe my 6Tb are a bit much for this old Nas although all 4 are detected and usable with stock u-boot and bohdis kernel. It's just that stock u-boot does not allow booting from them in gptby CodeJACK - uBoot
No problem. I delayed getting back on here as time was limited my side too so I understand and appreciate the effort you are putting into this. Thanks!by CodeJACK - uBoot
I've been googling too much for this box already but hey, Im cheap and got this thing for free so I'd like to try make it work :-) I came across seagate-blackarmor-nas while reading up on ways to create my own u-boot and found their script that references their own diff and dtb files for the Seagate specific NAS devices. There was mention of the ix4-200d being similar so i decided toby CodeJACK - uBoot
Hey bodhi. I've been looking at this the past few days but changing the delay does not make any difference to the disks being detected. Could EMC/Iomega have put in their own custom controller that u-boot would need their code to make it work?? I've tried googling to figure this out on my own but that's been a black hole of old sites where your name pops up a bit :-) What do yoby CodeJACK - uBoot

There is no specific instruction for the ix4-200d box but following bodhi's process in this thread will get you running: https://forum.doozan.com/read.php?2,12096 Check the Wiki page for instructions on how to move your working USB install to the local disk for better performance and install of OMV is thats what you want.by CodeJACK - uBoot
Take a look at the instructions and files I have linked in this post: https://forum.doozan.com/read.php?3,25120,132700#msg-132700 There if full recovery steps and firmware to recover your box. It is an older firmware to get the recovery done but once up and running, you can still download the latest stock image from Lenovo and get you back to normal state.by CodeJACK - uBoot
Sorry bodhi, I've had a bust few days and not gotten back to this yet. As for the sleep, it didnt seem to make any difference, Im not hearing the disk spin up the same way they do with stock u-boot. I hope to get back to this over the weekend and ill get more detail then with outputs etc.by CodeJACK - uBoot

Yeah, that sounds about right. Better to stay mainline :-) Im still doing the rootfs on disk but took some time to see what disk slot gets assigned to each controller at boot and in what order on each controller. It might not make any difference but Lenovo imaging process states that the bottom most disk must be the only one inserted. I thought that would be SATA controller and disk 0. Hi bodhi, sorry for the delay, ill get started on the above now. I understand what you say about the disk slow to respond but it does not do that with the current stock u-boot. Disk are detected quickly and start up fast.by CodeJACK - uBoot

Great, thanks a lot bodhi. The disks do seem slow to initialize. The controllers themselves are max 3Gbps so each disk gets 1.5. This is going to be slow with 4 x 6Tb disks but I'm not looking for speed. Catch you later! Enjoy your weekendby CodeJACK - uBoot
