Thanks Bodhi, I found another usb-sata adapter and things are much better. will let you know. I think it is going to work.by Chuck99 - uBoot
May be the the USB to SATA clamshell is the problem. I will try to do it on a V4 and see with real SATA interface.by Chuck99 - uBoot
Not the boot that is loaded. It is same as maldridge shows in the beginning of this thread. When I let it go on to boot it ends up with same msg he shows. Is it that there something in my LinuxMint? Why does disk_create clobber partition 1. It also makes it almost impossible to reformat drive. Windows can fix the drive ok. fdisk will not fix it. The undo script works sometimes. The uboot thby Chuck99 - uBoot
I have gone through this thread over and over. I have not been able to understand all the twists and turns. I still don't know how you can run the disk_create file and still be able to use the partitions after. on my computer it makes partition one bad. I can get to the uboot commands fine but without USB commands can not restore the clobbered Nand. Any ideas. Thanks, Chuckby Chuck99 - uBoot
Would it be possible to boot a working Debian system from my other Pogoplug Pro on my crashed nand Pro? The working one is running off usb but I can DD it to another SATA drive.by Chuck99 - uBoot
Thank you Sir. I will give it a try. I have one Pogoplug Pro running Debian with Samba. Works great. I goofed this one awhile back. Now want to get it going.by Chuck99 - uBoot
After reading this thread I would like to know the exact sequence that got you through it. I would like to get to the point of restoring nand with the correct boot. Don't really care about booting into Debian with SATA. Thanksby Chuck99 - uBoot
I was installing a wireless adapter with these instructions, http://blog.qnology.com/2014/11/debian-on-pogoplug-tutorial-wireless.html, and actually did get it working somewhat but now Debian goes crazy and starts dumping to the screen on serial interface forever. I think it ran out of ram. Will not stop without pulling the plug to reset. Any advice.d Reloaded Debian. Re-installed wireless cby Chuck99 - uBoot
That was great. Question, is it good idea to leave local loop back in config? I now have static addresses on my Debian Pogoplugs.by Chuck99 - uBoot
Thanks, I will give it a try. Sounds good.by Chuck99 - uBoot
I'm confused, I was reading the forums about ipaddr and serverip and don't know what they do for you. I want fixed IP address on all my pogoplugs so I can keep track of them. Is that in one of the config files?by Chuck99 - uBoot
I think someone messed with this pogoplug and sold it as new. There is no cesvcid and there is a ipaddress there that I did not put in. anyway I think I should go ahead and put in your uboot etc. or I could leave it alone since it does boot Debian.by Chuck99 - uBoot
How to defeat DHCP and use fixed IP address? ps I think I posted the Magic Number log in wrong place. It is up above. It appears the NAND error caused it to use default env, is that it? Thank youby Chuck99 - uBoot
What is correct format? setenv ipaddr xx.xx.xx.xx or setenv ipaddress xx.xx.xx.xx. For some reason this new mobile has both in it and I did not put it there. How can you remove items from env? How to defeat DHCP and use fixed IP address?by Chuck99 - uBoot
here it is.by Chuck99 - uBoot
I got my V4-A1 going today. The one with bad NAND 0x0. Took a new one and dumped mtd's via ssh taking your advice. Then put them back via kwb and PPV4> prompt. Config env and booted. Restarted without USB and got a magic number error. So almost got it going stock. Decided to put in Debian USB and it booted after doing what you said removing the 70 and 75 files. Is there a way to fix magby Chuck99 - uBoot
I have a question about NAND. I looks like I could dump the whole 128 MB of NAND at one time with Debian nanddump. Could I ext2load that file at a PPV4> prompt with NAND write and put it back in another Pogoplug? Thank you. I assume that mtdparts is a software partition not hardware.by Chuck99 - uBoot
Thanks, I will give it a try.by Chuck99 - uBoot
I would like to learn to modify the rules files.by Chuck99 - Debian
That fixed it! Thank you so much. If you have time could you tell me sequence of recovery for V4-A1 I have messed up. Have serial console only. Do not have all original mtd's that I dumped before starting the Debian project. I was able to get Uboot loaded with your Uboot........kwb file so do not need kwboot.by Chuck99 - uBoot
This is a clone. what two files are they? I was just looking at dmesg. Is this why network does not work? [ 23.193952] mv643xx_eth_port mv643xx_eth_port.0 eth1: renamed from eth0 [ 23.285642] systemd-udevd[319]: renamed network interface eth0 to eth1 when it starts up the RJ-45 lights are both on. activity stops when linux loads. only left side light stays on.by Chuck99 - uBoot
Problem stll can not find etho. no ssh connection. I just added that uEnv.txt yesterday to boot directory.by Chuck99 - uBoot
Boots to Debian but can not connect to network. Complete log attrached. I think I did what you asked. I looked at Dmesg and it still thinks it is a E02 device. Thanksby Chuck99 - uBoot
I use search a lot. There is tons of stuff in here. I have one mobile that is running Debian. Has some Goflex e2 mixed in but works. I am leaving it alone. I think it needs new DTB for v4. I have decided to start over on v4-a3. It is a mess. Kwboot is ok. What is best way to get ssh working again so I can get the files needed? I only have orig mtd0-mtd2. env is messed up and no network at all.by Chuck99 - uBoot
It is booting fine.has one error can not find uEnv.txt on boot. Other problem now is no ssh access.by Chuck99 - uBoot
That did it! Is there a way to copy the whole NAND from one Pogoplug mobile to another? I still have a problem with one that has a bad address 0x0 in NAND.by Chuck99 - uBoot
I had to cut and paste to capture it all with Gtkterm. I think it is correct. thanks.by Chuck99 - uBoot
Here is boot log via serial interface. I plugged in the HDD. I see it shows that.by Chuck99 - uBoot
I was using the SSD on a USB interface. I plugged it into the top HDD slot on the V4-A3 and does not work. It did not work after the boot the original way with USB. It seems the log buffer fills up to fast with gtkterm. I will try. It does boot without kwboot and will stop with PPV4 > prompt.by Chuck99 - uBoot
I think I messed it up. uboot seems ok but I selected boot from sata. I thought it was ok since I want to boot from sata when done. Is that why it cannot sync. device 0:0? This on my V4-A3. My V4A1 mobile works great! Is this my problem? ** File not found /boot/uEnv.txt **by Chuck99 - uBoot
