I have used this for quite a while now and mapped the network drive on several computers. Windows 10 no longer supports this and won't connect saying that SMB1 is obsolete and needs to be updated to SMB2. Is there an easy way to do this? Thanksby optim - Rescue System
I went back a / on your link and there were a couple of options... didnt look to see if they were complete linux but look promising. https://github.com/orangepi-xunlong/ Dont clone, just look and see which would be correct.by optim - Allwinner A10
Thanks! I have made the changes, how am I sure it is working? I checked htop and did not see it in the process list, I did see 'kswapd0' though. Should it be there or would I have to peruse the log to see if it started?by optim - Debian
I have installed this as well, and it is working. Only issue was in step 2 when I went to save the xstartup file there was no .vnc folder to save it to so I had to create that. I am interested in your zswap point above though. I have looked through the Kirkwood and Oxnas threads and each only mentions Zswap once and really gives no instructions. Do I need the 3.12.something or other kirkwoodby optim - Debian
I do not see anyone has hacked it to put in new uboot or OS yet, but it can be rooted and someone has hacked inside to serial port booting and the video posted shows the full boot including being able to interrupt uboot (although they did not).by optim - Off-Topic
Bodhi, The XFCE environment you described above, that will only have a desktop sessionrunning when there is an RDC connected and it will not run when there is no such connection?by optim - Off-Topic
I've been using mythtv. I have not tried it on a pogo though,, I am using it on an old linux setup. I connect to it from those little usb tv sticks running android, I use an app called mythling, but any DLNA app should be compatible.by optim - Debian

ack. I need to update my rootfs? I take it that means change the wheezy to testing (or jessie?) and do a dist-upgrade?by optim - Debian
I'm afraid you passed my level of knowledge there. What is Jessie? A newer version of Debian? (ie lenny, wheezy, Jessie?) Would I add Jessie where I now have wheezy?by optim - Debian
I am looking for a copy of gcc 4.8 for arm. A project I want to play with says it requires gcc 4.8 and apt search only shows up to 4.7. I have Bodhi's 3.10.4 installed on the GoFlex that I want to play with. Is there a way to get/compile/ have added to repositories GCC version 4.8?by optim - Debian

The HD was plugged in! I have not removed it. I will shutdown, do a reboot without it and a reboot with it in. Can I hotplug the SATA HD? I can try that and look at dmesg if it would help but don't wnat to do it if thats a no-no. I had forgotten I had a new computer without serial cable drivers since I could not get netconsole to work (I forgot to set the local ip! HA!) Well, I booted into an old rootfs of yours I had on a stick 3.10.something. I have seen several different things along the way about the sata port so figure I will just post my environment, my 'mount', and dmesg and see what the experts say.by optim - Rescue System
I have a system that typically boots into an ext3 Hard Drive (should allow it to survive power failures), but now will only boot into the rescue system. When I try to do anything on /dev/sda it says there is no drive, there are no USB devices attached. I have tried /dev/sdb as well, but I didn't expect anything there either. Anyone know how to figure out if my drive is no working or tby optim - Rescue System
My guess would be it does not have a uPNP port open but torrent still works as long as the other end has an open port. Uploading would probably work fairly poorly, as would trying to connect to anyone else who could not find an external port.by optim - Off-Topic
I ran the command: no errors root@Goflex-80G:/boot# update-initramfs -u update-initramfs: Generating /boot/initrd.img-3.3.2-kirkwood-dg Then for fun I ran the dpkg command: root@Goflex-80G:/boot# dpkg -l | grep -i linux-image ii linux-image-2.6-kirkwood 2.6.32+29 Linux 2.6 for Marvell Kirkwood (meta-package) ii linux-image-2.6.32-5-kirkwoodby optim - Debian
What would the command be to force it to boot the correct initrd.img? I would rather just run the command then delete the files that should no longer be there. This GoFlex boots off of a hard drive so fixing it after a failed boot would be a little more of a chore then if I were booting off of a stick.by optim - Debian

I have a Goflex home booting off of an 80G hd. I am not much of a linux person, but I pick stuff up here and there. I did a 'apt-get update', then I did a 'apt-get upgrade' and it says that it replaced my 2.6.35 kernel with 2.6.41 or something along those lines, but I actually have it booting from a 3.3.2 kernel. When I reboot is this thing going to be messed up?by optim - Debian
I do not know how, but there is this Uboot build instructions post. It is for the Goflex home, but I believe they share the same Uboot code.by optim - uBoot
I believe while in UBoot you need to use setenv and saveenv in order for the environment varialbes to set and save properly (type help to get the commands). fw_setenv is for within debian. Its been a while though so I could be wrong.by optim - Debian

It appears to be running. 109 1 default S 2792 2% 0% avahi-daemon: running I changed the name to DockstarNFS also: DockstarNFS:~# /etc/init.d/avahi-daemon restart -sh: /etc/init.d/avahi-daemon: not found is what I get when I try to resart. Nope. Nothing listed as a name. I can see all the other computers, the Roku, the router, the network printer. When I map network drive I have to use the IP address then it see timemachine. This is SMBPlug not MACplug though. If that matters.by optim - Rescue System
