Bodhi,

Now i find out what was wrong, When i should try it again here, Then the same problem show up again. And i was thinking right away that this problem have be transfer to the USB Drive. Got a lot of strange sign and everything again.

But that was not the problem it was bad connect in the Ground cable from the CP Module to the RN10400 Motherboard who did all this bad sign and things.

So here i have boot up again with the Orginal HDD's installed in the box. And here is the read out from that.

Yes then i think i get it. So now is the orginal HDD's in the box without bad sign coz the ground cable.
And now all the HDD's is runing in the box.
In the front of the box is.:-
The light in all of the HDD's is on. 1 2 3 4 Led is on.
The Led in power and backup switch is blinking / flashing as before.
And the Led Act light is on.
Display say. Boot from USB
But the display change from Booting to Boot from USB on bootup.

Ps. Sorry because i did not find that bad connect on the ground cable right away. But now i know who couse this bad
sign who come up in the Terminal when only TX and RX are connected with bad Ground connect.

So the next 2 things to be done are:

1. Find a way to set the bootcmd permanently. I think I've seen an approach another forum member tried and it works. Let me find that post.

2. Set up to read the raided HDDs content so you can copy the files to a regular HDD. I mentioned this before that there is some small risk in doing this. The RAID array was set up in stock OS, and stock system was quite old comparing to the latest Debian we are using in the USB rootfs. Normally, the RAID array can be scanned and brought up without problem. However, I don't know stock OS, so I cannot be sure what we will do will be successful, and whether it will corrupt the RAID file system. So before the recovery attempt, you need to decide if you are willing to risk losing all the files.. I can only suggest how to do this, but I cannot guarantee that it will not cause damage. I have confident that it will be OK, but the risk is yours to take.

Yes, but i was reading in some info from the Netgear before that this box can't be updatet from a old version direct to the newest version that will go bad they say. it must be done step by step. from one version to the next version and so on. But i will try to find what i was reading at that time.

Yeah... i don't like to take the risk to loose all the photos, movies and everything i have on the box. So if we can save it, i like that. But if it is the only way out in the end, we have no choice.

But and yes there is so many types of raid system so not easy to find the right one. But let me see what i can find on this because i download'ed much regarding this box for some.. a long time ago.

ReadyDR - A new disaster recovery service that does block-level replication of share snapshots. (x86 systems only - not available on RN10x/20x/21x/2120)
VLAN virtual network adapter support.

Snapshot pruning on full volumes should now retain at least the two most recent snapshots on all shares and LUNs.

Bug Fixes:
1. Added a couple of security updates. (cURL, Linux kernel).
2. Fixed network tab unnecessarily requiring an IPv6 gateway address.
3. Fixed a rare issue where a network bond many be missing one member after a reboot.
4. Fixed Wake-on-LAN support. (RN312/RN314/RN316).
5. Fixed an issue where snapshots could be skipped during DST adjustments.
6. Fixed an issue where continuous snapshots would still be taken after the snapshot pruning threshold had been exceeded.
7. Fixed issue where user home folder snapshot settings would get reset after upgrade.
8. Fixed an issue where ADS groups would show a GID instead of the group name in the GUI on new shares.
9. Adjusted the ADS realm name restrictions to allow number based labels.
10. Fixed an issue where changing share ownership would silently fail.
11. Fixed a WSD memory leak when responding to network devices that issued invalid requests.
12. Fixed disks always spinning up immediately with disk spindown enabled.
13. Fixed some cases where formatting a USB drive would fail.
14. Fixed a system management crash when encountering bad rsync configuration.
15. Fixed a potential crash during shutdown if one of the network interfaces failed to initialize. (RN202/RN204/RN212/RN214).
16. Updated the drive monitoring tools to work with the modern drive standards.

Warnings:
Devices updated with 6.6.0 firmware should not be downgraded to earlier firmware versions.

Not likely. RAIDar is for Netgear stock OS. So it runs on a much older LInux system. For some simple static binary, it would be possible, but not large and comlex binaries that access kernel system calls.

Hi Bodhi,

Ok, so if we try to install the new'est Netgear OS to the box. that will maybe go. But they also say this must be upgard'ed with 1 ver. then the next ver. and so on.
And today we don't know what ver. is installed on the RN10400 motherboard. But if we try to install it and see what happend.
If that not go. Then we have the Debian system on the USB Drive. So then we go for what you say is a small risk to take.

Or what do you think.?

Then most important is to try to save what i have on the HDD's from the Box.

Yes back on the box is the following.:-

Label 1. is written this.: FW: V6.2.0

Label 2. is written this.: NETGEAR Advanced Network Storage.
Model No. RND-4D

And in between some Chinese characters.

Under that is come a MODEL NAME. RN10400

Then MAC1 and MAC2 and SERIAL.

Self declaration Conforming to IS 13252: P1:2010

Yes then you have it.

Yes but i don't know if the box has be updated later or not, because i have not have this box from the box was new. I got it used for some years ago.

I have look at it and i have download'ed the Ready NasOs-6.10.3-arm.zip and also The newest Ready-NasOs 6.10.4-arm.zip but there is not the file name what K20 say and have use and i can't find them. The filename uboot.bin.

That's how we use tftp server and transfer the files to this box. You should read about Linux tftp for more detailed info.

Basically, a tftp server is set up on another Linux box. And this u-boot, as a client, connect to that tftp server using the IP addresses defined in its envs.

The above command connects to the tftp server at address $serverip, and load a file name uboot.bin. The memory location in RAM that this file is loaded into is 0x000000000000.

Usually, as a default convention, the tftp server has a folder name /tftproot. That's where you would copy the uboot.bin to, before running the tftpboot command on this box.

This files.: uboot.bin and kernel.arm and initro.gz is this files inside the Ready NasOs-6.10.3-arm.img file.? Because i can't find this 3 files.
When i unzip the Ready NasOs-6.10.3-arm.zip there is only 2 files the .img and a other on. can't see what name the other file is coz. in a win 10. computer right now.
And also this will be the same if i use the last one.: Ready NasOs-6.10.4-arm.zip
