That place is increasingly important for OrangePis as well as everything habbie recommends :-D If they took PayPal we'd be talking about how nice mine runs and how grateful I am you helped LOL However, the gas station has prepaid Mastercard debits and even PayPal has a Mastercard debit variant. Sorry for mentioning USB stick; I should have read this better. I suspect the RAM gets used up then and it's swap use that causes the slowdown. Could you be persuaded to set swappiness to 2 or 3? That's what my E02 is set at and I'll never change it. -update- I'm too late but maybe it's a better idea to just start fresh. Best of luck and skill to you :-)by JoeyPogoPlugE02 - Debian
Vinay is your Transmission "incoming" folder the same as the Samba? That's the way mine is, and as long as Transmission is paused, the apps aren't fighting for ownership. I think. I was getting the same types of problems awhile back. Also because my DSL is so slow I don't want to admit how slow, some torrents can take a day or two to come in, so a pause and a fresh rebooby JoeyPogoPlugE02 - Debian

Wow, too bad I printed a label and dropped off the return box. I'd have had nothing to lose trying. That firmware though, like you're saying about running Debian - if that firmware had just enough space to boot load its own driver or chain booting mechanism, one would think you could not only run Live-and-installed OSs off USB 3.0 sticks at USB 3.0 speed, but if you were careful youby JoeyPogoPlugE02 - Off-Topic
Well if anything good can be said, that company sent a printable return postage and will refund the money. I'm on the angry side and don't know if there is such a thing as good units like that. Boo, hiss. Thanks you guys - you can see that if this were to work properly I'd be in 7th heaven with how easy it should have... sniffle... (and I'm tough psychologically)... booby JoeyPogoPlugE02 - Off-Topic
No, after I tested the power supply I just plugged the 7-port-hub-only into the PCIE card on the back of desktop computer. Here's the ThinClient dmesg (and thanks for that by the way). Far as I can tell it's a 2.0 hub. The reference to USB 3 here is either the PCIE card or the PNY USB 3.0 stick that's plugged into the 2.0 port in front of the ThinClient. See what you think....by JoeyPogoPlugE02 - Off-Topic

For now, say I'm in the tablet running ES File Explorer and I want to bookmark my favorite NAS locations, a regular keyboard plugged in would make hay of the smb:// and other things hard to make without the screen keyboard going away. (okay my tangent is almost over for a bit!) The Android KitKat tablet I bought the other day only lacked one thing that might be retrofittable. That's USB OTG or On The Go. It's a micro USB male plug that goes into the tablet, and the other end is a female regular USB. That way I could hook up say a Logitech wireless mouse and keyboard and be quick about some tablet prep that'sby JoeyPogoPlugE02 - Off-Topic
You see how my luck swings like a pendulum... I got this Black 7 Port USB 3.0 Hub On/Off Switches days ago and it works with USB 2 with no power supply. But tonight I tried USB 3.0 using two WD My Passport external hard drives into a new FL USB 3.0 port and its terrible. Computer recognizes one - but files won t copy and it gets error. Almost there gents, and one thing... Regarding that $20 - I don't know the name of the woman who rang up the register in the first place, but will find out, and make sure it's known it was an honest mistake and the two bills were hours fresh from the bank and stuck well. No payback of good favor is too big me thinks. If anyone still checking the progress, maybe can ask one morby JoeyPogoPlugE02 - Off-Topic
Remember gents I have 30 days to return it, and it's possible it can be rolled back to factory state if I mess something up. Gravelrash's advice about core apps is the one for my concern. I forget Android means every possible Google integration. Yes I'm really liking search using your voice, it likes my voice apparently with no glitches. Congratulations habibie :-) Gravelrash too for all the HP T5325s - might I ask if you have an OS of choice? I'd guess Debian.by JoeyPogoPlugE02 - Off-Topic
May as well and break out the camera. We'd have a good idea if the problem is likely widespread. Us, if worse comes to worse we could solder it proper-like. I probably will if they send another one which i'll solder too lol But for the money (on a product coming from China) you'd expect nice Stanley quality or something; this is constructed unbecoming of even Rosewill. Pluby JoeyPogoPlugE02 - Off-Topic
In theory the Rosewill RPS-210 is a must-have power strip, especially for a "desktop cloud". I just got one delivered yesterday. I carefully opened the back to take a picture of switch/outlet orientation and am shocked to see it's very likely an unacceptable fire hazard. Might be worth re-soldering properly and just use it, but I've probably got to warn others or somethiby JoeyPogoPlugE02 - Off-Topic
+1 Gravelrash, and Bodhi has a method for plug-in hard drive with separate swap that I'm dying to try when the trinkets come in. Mine still "incorrectly" have a swapfile within the OS sticks but I keep things lean starting up and set swappiness to 2. Might I lament, setting Swappiness should be in every Linux's install along with time zone me thinketh.by JoeyPogoPlugE02 - Off-Topic
I'd run Samba and one of the others at the same time, but no more than that. In all my Pogoplugs Transmission auto starts as well as Webmin and a couple others, and i meant to ask too if there's a one-click way to remotely start an app. For instance since I rarely use Webmin (but feel it's a safety net and alternative helper in a pinch) I'd like to stop it from auto startingby JoeyPogoPlugE02 - Off-Topic
You sir have my sincere thanks not only for this but for a year of great progress. Wow if that doesn't get me going nothing will. This thread qualifies as a Wiki reference and knock on wood someday maybe I can get a larger tablet or surface. But if I can get 20 hours of tutorials watched it's worth the price and can turn my attention to Orange Pis and hard drives this summer. Anby JoeyPogoPlugE02 - Off-Topic

I'm sure they'll go quick over there but if not, you know my address :D My life's work is charity in a way. Just got back from St Vincent DePaul. It's my birthday. Bought a tablet but lost a $20. Naw, some wise person over there could probably use if more than I, because I've got one and besides the postage is cray. I bought a Trio Stealth G5 10 today and 2 year extended warranty. I have 30 days to have buyer's remorse and so far haven't charged it up. Yes, I paid more for a bird in the hand: $80 on sale and I had two $10 coupons that took it to $60 hen I bought extended coverage for $10 and then lost a $20 somewhere between here and there. I'm not sure - was looking at one of them last night and a popup showed the specifications. But... on USB 3.0 they specify a blue connector and the lack of that further makes me think this is for USB 2.0. The reason this might be important, is USB 3.0 has additional connectors. And on other other hand, I know nothing about cellphones or the numbers you'd see when charging. Even ifby JoeyPogoPlugE02 - Off-Topic

It was an April Fool's Day joke that went south. A month ago Goodwill has the USB tentacle (pictured) for sale, and it looks alive when it's plugged in. I was ready to put it on the short list until realizing it's for USB 2.0 and I should hold out for USB 3.0 because those current draws are more likely to cause problems. Looks like those are between $9 and $20 on eBay. Still it'll pay for itself quick.by JoeyPogoPlugE02 - Off-Topic
Wow that looks fantastic, something I'll try as a present to self if I make progress with current ToDo list. Maybe I can ask a couple questions and get out of your hair for now. 1. I'll be advised to buy similar. One thing, it looks like your fingers handling it would touch many IC pins at the same time. For items like that, suppose you could wrap electrical tape but it'll be sticky mush first hot day, or shrink tubing and end up burning some component. How will you handle it?by JoeyPogoPlugE02 - Off-Topic
