bodhi, I don't have a permanent serial cable installed. could you include ttyprintk option in future kernel builds? I believe this will allow console=ttyprintk in kernel cmdline to show init messages to netconsole to help troubleshoot issues without opening things up. That fix did help me. But I wonder if maybe the USB drivers themselves just suck? I hooked up a DVD burner and got 1 successful burn out of 5, at 2.4x and the highest priority 'nice' would give me, andddd killed off the torrent and media servers :Oby neutronscott - Debian

Cable Modems and routers are MIPS and lots of JTAG information in those two hobby areas. :) I've used UrJtag software and poor man's parallel jtag, to rewrite NOR on linksys hardware but nothing else myself.by neutronscott - Displays
OK don't change your environment yet! If you have Jeff's bootloader installed you should just issue your boot commands using the netconsole. I've not used the netconsole, as I have a serial console. TFTP is for loading the kernel off the network. I highly recommend a serial console when doing any modifications to the boot environment, but if you have a udp network console thenby neutronscott - uBoot

Doesn't smb work over the internet anyway? Must be your filewall. You could just use an SSH tunnel for port 139.by neutronscott - Debian
Things should not be modified without a serial console attached, in my opinion. You can monkey with it all you'd like, attaching a serial console would give you definite answers. That's my suggestion anyway. It'll take some time to acquire parts, but once you can actually see what it's doing, you can resolve it quickly.by neutronscott - Debian
Quote*** Warning - bad CRC or NAND, using default environment I believe this is because seagate used a more intense ECC for the u-boot area of the NAND. jeff's u-boot uses a different sector, but you'll need to have the ECC written by a 'saveenv' During my trials with u-boot (I ended up keeping the stock one, it did fine), the load addresses seemed different. Quoteozoned How can i create hybrid mrb/gpt? Disk isn't user in other machines, but with mbr i can't create big partition. Sorry I should have followed the topic. Is this the 3TB GoFlex Home? Did it come formatted with GPT? I imagine since the only limit here is u-boot, you would just want to create a /boot partition that is both in the MBR and GPT so that U-boot may load the keby neutronscott - uBoot
Quotedpffan Your device is the Goflex Home? Yes. It would be interesting to dump and disassemble both 1.11 and 1.21 bootroms.. i bet there may be a workaround for 1.11, but a very poor man's JTAG is just as easy I guess. I'd be interested at how to operate the command mode. It seems someone has looked into it. wonder if they disassembled it. http://plugcomputer.org/plugforum/inby neutronscott - uBoot
i thought the fake larger sector size allowed larger mbr partitions. u-boot seems to have gpt support, but it's not compiled in. maybe you can create a hybrid mbr/gpt if the disk is used in other machines. or maybe compile a new u-boot =\by neutronscott - uBoot

Debian upgrades are usually as simple as: sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get upgrade If you want to upgrade from 'stable' to 'testing' though, you'd first edit /etc/apt/sources.list I prefer to keep with stable, and add security fixes with the following sources.list: deb http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ squeeze main non-free deb http://security.debian.org/ squeeby neutronscott - Debian

Got my Coby 152 today and noticed offset image with lcd4linux hack. This thread is long, but saw mentioned a change in spec file. I noticed the last 2 bytes of the .ASM are just db's of the offsets, and opted to hexedit the last two 4's into 0's and reflash. Also mine did not require change to the is_pictureframe function which checks ID. Looks good now. @Funtoy1001 Have you triby neutronscott - Displays

maybe the dockstar's bootrom doesn't do it... :( my device has 1.21, i suppose yours is the 1.11. Mine begins sending XMODEM NAKs after mode was entered successfully. unfortunately the OpenSource docs don't describe command line mode, or any BootROM differences or errata. Does starting xmodem manually provide any output? Start picocom with: ./picocom -s 'sx -vv -b'by neutronscott - uBoot
Yes. I found few information on this, only people saying it did not work. Also if someone knows anything about the Command Line commands, I'd like to know. Seems the letters 'x' 'j' and 'g' halt the machine. I was thinking 'x' would put it in xmodem recv, but it doesn't seem that way... Oh well. doimage creates the KWB header.
