Wow, I didn't know. But, anyways, seems that is not supported by the kernel --> http://lists.infradead.org/pipermail/linux-arm-kernel/2011-April/049270.htmlby pazos - Debian
Ummm, it doesn't make sense: this is NOT a big endian hardware! Please read this first -> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Endiannessby pazos - Debian
It's a Ralink 3090 (with bluetooth). --> http://kroonen.eu/wiki/Ralink%20RT3090%20PCIe Its mainlined since 2.6.39 but DO NOT expect a reliable driver as r8187, zd1211 or ath9k I've changed this card with an ath9k ( in ebay for $4 with international shipping from Hong Kong) and, of course, everything goes _MUCH_ better (and you can have access point facilities :))by pazos - uBoot
Yes Dirk! U-boot was sucesfully installed. U-boot now checks for usb devices with a kernel in /boot/uImage, If cannot find any valid kernel loads the old bootloader, which loads the old pogoplug kernel & filesystem from nand. The old pogo kernel doesn't know anything about usb drives ( and you can boot even with an usb disk attached ) As bodhi suggested, maybe something on the installatby pazos - Debian
Are you trying to update from the unmodified filesystem?? Maybe you'll want to install debian squeeze before and then try to upgrade it (or choose the squeeze's way). If you feel more confortable with lastest packages access and easy & reliable install then I suggest you http://archlinuxarm.org. They have better support Both installs will replace your bootloader but you can alsoby pazos - Debian
Quote I've also learned that it did not work if we flash this UBoot from Linux command line (after installing ALARM). o_O . Did you pad the uboot binary with nandwrite -p /dev/mtd0 u-boot.kwb ?? The loader expected an aligned image. Sometimes we do this with 'dd': dd if=u-boot.kwb of=u-boot.nand bs=512 conv=sync // this align the image to fit in 4 eraseblocks ( 4 * 128 = 512) Iby pazos - uBoot
another idea: pogo_pro + arduino + dht11 the arduino reads humidity & temperature a send it throught serial-usb to a pogo, which check info and store it into a raw file, formatted for gnuplot. The pogo has a little webserver with some perl scripting and update graphic charts on demand. [ I actually do this with an old nslu2 but the png files are not showed via webserver, but in a picturby pazos - Debian
Thank you :) I'm really happy \\ bodhi: you got PM too!!by pazos - Debian
@sambul14: I've read some of your posts. The only solution I found is checking for the presence of an usb drive via trying to load the kernel from that place. If it is ok then root=/dev/sdb1, else root=/dev/sda1. If you remove SATA drive this approach doesn't work, but you DON'T really need to do that, or maybe yes? The other option is install a little distro on nand space, thisby pazos - uBoot
Did you notice that people at free-electrons started sending patches to mainline the a10/13 support? http://lists.infradead.org/pipermail/linux-arm-kernel/2012-November/132301.html Good News for users of those devices (not me)by pazos - Allwinner A10
Of course, via "drag & drop", but it's experimental and has some limitations (it is not posible to upload an entire folder & you need to have a RECENT browser). look at _h5ai/conf/options.json Personally, I think that h5ai is great for public sites, just for read and *NOT* for write . I rely on scp (or nfs | smb | sftp) to transfer new data to the server.by pazos - Debian
Maybe a case mod to fit the pogo and a 2.5" usb disk in a 5.25" dvd-like bay. It would be nice having a little-server embedded into your desktop computer. Of course software installed must include: samba & nfs server, download server (aria2 with webui) sshd (maybe dropbear) I would put the oxnas behind a nat router with ddns & forwarding ports 22 & 80. Hi Crytozoologist! Congratulations for having a linksys router, With both DD-WRT or Tomato (or even OpenWRT if you want to know more in depth what your device is doing) you can configure it as Wireless client, avoiding to have to setup your laptop as a bridge. Something like this: Main router: DHCP on subnet 192.168.x.x Secondary router (linksys): wifi client on subnet 192.168.x.x and dhcpby pazos - Debian
I can't image why we need the newest kernel for just a plug computer. My devices work well with 3.1.x series and I don't plan to upgrade them.by pazos - Debian
Some people at archlinuxarm are asking why rescue system doesn't boot with arcnumber=3542 (pogo_e02). creating a patch for it is rather simple and the machine will work with both arcnumbers. I don't have any pogo devices right now, but change led definitions and mtd partitions is really easy, I will make a little patch when I have some more time :)by pazos - Rescue System
davidgravy, why are you using pogoplug v2 with sheevaplug arcnumber???by pazos - Rescue System
elinux.org has a great wiki with related articles, and its a good place to contribute.. the domain wiki.doozan.com would be great and I'm sure that it can improve the info of this forum. I vote YES, of course ;)by pazos - Debian
thanks jeff for support this forum !! Its a great place to learn and share info...by pazos - Debian
There were some modifications in the arm tree that affects to all kirkwood devices. It is simply to modify. Use the arch/arm/mach-kirkwood/dockstar-setup.c as an example and look for the last code, then adjust the code in your arch/arm/mach-kirkwood/pogo_e02.setup.c (just need to modify the "boot_params" line)by pazos - Debian
Don't worry about that, this doesn't affect you. When Jeff wrote uboot scripts he described some ways of linux installation, included install an ubifs in mtd3. When system boots up it tries to boot from, in this order: rescue usb, normal usb, mtd3, mtd1 (rescue system or pogo default firmware). In your case, when you boot up your system whitout any usb media on it the system finallyby pazos - uBoot
but SATA works ok with archlinuxarm u-boot, you can boot even from SD/MMC card if you'll write the kernel in nand-space. In my opinion there is no need to "mainline" this u-boot as far as it works well enough to: - boot from nand - boot from usb 2.0 - boot from sata - boot from sd/mmc & usb 3.0* * - booting a kernel in nand that points to a filesystem in the externby pazos - uBoot
please try to apply the patch, It should work on 2.6 kernels. If you want to support pogo_e02 into a 3.0 kernel you should check archlinuxarm patch here -> https://github.com/archlinuxarm/PKGBUILDs/blob/master/core/linux/archlinuxarm.patch and select support for pogo_e02 via menuconfigby pazos - Debian
Yes, This should work. I've upgraded all my kirkwood machines from linux, not from u-boot.by pazos - uBoot
I've submitted this patch to the archlinuxarm github account; this seems the more active community in support these devices...by pazos - Debian
AFAIK any binary compiled against the same libraries must work on both systems. Angstrom is an exception cause it uses eglibc instead of glibc, therefore all binaries are NOT compatible with glibc systems (debian,arch,slackware,fedora...)by pazos - Debian
davygravy; as far as I can see vanilla u-boot from iconnect its not affected by this bug and is able to boot newer kernel than 3.2. I think that this error are only on newer uboots (the iconnect has 1.1.4 as the unbuggy pogoplug 4)... I've build a new u-boot for myself (I flashed openwrt's u-boot before) and it works as expected. I can submit you my patch but I think nobody will wants iby pazos - uBoot
Hey DJDavid, it seems that some enviroment variables are not well defined. Please attach your enviroment here typing printenv from uboot's prompt!by pazos - Debian
@davygravy: it does make sense, since dockstar files are under board/Seagate, but this is a minor fix that involves boards.cfg PD: Your configuration (from include/configs/dockstar.cfg) seems to work out-of-the-box applied to an iconnect wireless station, With new u-boot tested in RAM before flashing it into nand. It works like a charm with jeff's enviroment settings and can handle everytby pazos - uBoot
